Owners Adam and Michelle relocated an original Queens Park home 30 plus years ago to raise their family on the acreage they named Kiambram meaning “dense forest”. Visitors admired the relaxing view and protected aspect. Still residing on the property they offer former family home and new cabins for couples weekend getaways, families and groups. The ongoing native vegetation restoration program brings a lot of birds and wallabies close to the cabins. Contained farm animals can be seen as well. We are sorry these don't mix with pets and have a strict NO PETS policy.

Solar is on and landscaping nearly there.

Mr Kiambram's junk steel supplies have created a little wallaby free native fruit garden fence (to be painted). Saved rocks have tidied up the wall ends, including a native lemongrass patch. Native couch grass has responded well to the rain and mowing. Looking forward to sharing our repurposed fit out in the new year. Maybe see you then? Direct booking link in bio.

Patterns in Nature ((()))

These communal Double-barred finch nests amaze me how perfectly cylindrical they end up amongst the random prickly branches they build in for protection.

Bumble trees are producing new crops on the bush tucker trail at present.

The green skin of Capparis mitchelli fruit just darkens with maturity (darker than the larger one in these photos). One day they don't look ripe. The next day they are gone. It's the intense fruity aroma that gives away their ripeness. Be quick to sniff them out! We found one the other day and forgot to pick it so went back the next morning only to find it had been snavelled by some nocturnal critter.

Visit our Travel For Good / "Our Commitment To Nature" page (link in bio); hit the INaturalist Button; find and drill down on Capparis mitchelli for more interesting info on this useful plant.

Ready for fit out, sustainability and security measures, also landscaping. Our new shed got the tick of approval last week and we can't wait to finish installs and see the benefits they bring.

Helping hand for listed 'V' status plant, Sophora fraseri.

A vulnerable plant is a plant species that is considered to be at high risk of extinction in the wild. With not a huge geographical range, being endemic to Northern NSW and Southern Queensland Sophora fraseri needs protection from overgrazing to be able to regenerate naturally at Kiambram.

A specimen from this plant has now been added to the Queensland Herbarium collection. Please advise your local Land for Wildlife South East Queensland officer if you need help identifying and following proper protocols for plant and animal conservation. This pretty shrub from the pea family may be available from if you'd like it for your garden.

Before the sun goes down there are plenty of jobs to do!

This is one of our favourites; feeding GT the horse especially when he is grazing the hilltop. We often catch a sunset while we are up there.

Looking for fairies or dragons; we have you covered...

Thanks to wildlife photographer, Charles Dove for generously curating a display of creatures that can be found at Kiambram on these A2 displays. The close up of a variegated fairy wren was taken by Charles recently at Highfields Falls a beautiful closeby spot to bird if you want an outing. We have both Superb and Variegated fairy wrens here on site around the cabins, inspiring the name Wrens Garden Cabin.
Book now if you're a fan of springtime birding with the extra option of professional bird guide Mick Atzeni - Birding Guide . See details in our Accommodation/Deals & Packages. Link in bio.

We love echidna antics,
but they do this as soon as you get close enough for a good pic!
One of the world's 2 egg laying marsupials (or monotremes), the other being the platypus.

What's your favourite quirky animal?
