It’s time to check your passports!
Did you know that for most international travel you are required to have at least 6 months validity on your passport past your travel dates.
Passport prices will be increasing as of the 1st July so if you do need a new passport soon make sure you get in before the price rise!
Wise Money Card
People often ask me about the best way to access money while travelling. For my last two international trips I have tried out the Wise travel money card. Wise often have some of the best conversion rates available and it is easy to manage and move money via an app. I found both the physical and digital cards easy to use and never had an issue while overseas. There is no sign up fee or monthly fees and you receive a digital card to start using immediately. There is a small fee for converting money and to order a physical card is $6.
I always suggest researching the option that is best for you but if you would like to try the Wise money card you can use the link below to sign up which will allow you to get a physical card for free or a free transfer up to $1000 AUD.
Banks charge a lot for overseas transfers. We don't. Transfer money abroad easily and quickly with our low cost money transfers.

Merusaka - Nusa Dua
To finish off my time in Bali I spent 3 days at the Merusaka resort in Nusa Dua.
Nusa Dua has a completely different vibe from the Kuta/Legian/Seminyak area. Nusa Dua is a gated tourist area full of 5 star resorts and golden sand beaches.
Nusa Dua is the place to go if you just want to relax! The Merusaka was a great resort to stay at with beachfront access, four pools including two kids pools, a swim up pool bar and multi tiered pool, day spa, four restaurants and a free shuttle service to the local shopping complex - Bali Collection.
Bali Mandira Resort & Spa
I was lucky enough to have a hotel inspection of the Bali Mandira while in Bali. The Mandira is located in Legian, which is one of the most popular areas of Bali for Australian tourists.
The Mandira has something for everyone with beach front access, lagoon style pools, 2 waterslides, kids club, adults only pool, restaurants and an award winning day spa.

Bali Garden Beach Resort - Kuta
I have just spent two nights here at Bali Garden and it is a wonderful option if you are looking for a great Kuta location in Bali.
Bali Garden has 3 pools - including a swim up pool bar, beautiful gardens, 6 restaurants onsite plus an easy walk to many more, beach access, day spa onsite, next door to Discovery Mall shopping centre, Waterbom park is across the road and you will also find amazing and helpful staff throughout the resort

Heritage Adventurer

Great Barrier Island
A lesser known location in New Zealand this was a beautiful port for our ship and once again New Zealand put on its finest display of weather.
We took a short Zodiac ride across to the Glenfern Sanctury area of the island where we enjoyed a beautiful (and steep) walk up through the regenerating bushland and along the stream. The views along the hike and also from the top were absolutely stunning!
Open Bridge
One of things I love best about most expedition ships is the open bridge. The Open Bridge policy allows passengers to visit the bridge at almost anytime and stay for as long as you want. You can get up close to the instruments and speak with the Captain and bridge staff.
Waitangi
This morning I had another zodiac ride to visit Waitangi and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds in the Bay of Islands.
This is an important place in New Zealand and often referred to as the ‘Birthplace of the Nation’. The Waitangi Treaty grounds are where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed on February 6th 1840 between the British and the Māori.
Today I was able to explore the grounds and was also treated to a cultural show

Zodiacs
Today I got my first ride in a Zodiac. These are the boats used by expedition ships to get passengers ashore - especially in more remote locations. Today we were in Gisborne, which is not a remote location but the ship had to dock out in the bay.
On this trip in New Zealand we have a mix of zodiac and walk off ports. I’ll be back on the Zodiacs again for the next two days as we visit Great Barrier Island and Bay of Islands
Napier / Hawkes Bay
Today we were docked in Napier - an art deco inspired town on the New Zealand north island.
The town sits in the Hawkes Bag region which is famous for its wines, and wow did New Zealand showcase its finest weather today! I was able to spend the day exploring three lovely wineries in the beautiful sunshine 🍷 ☀️
Heritage Adventurer
Today I embarked on the Heritage Adventurer. This is a wonderful small ship that caters to a maximum of 140 guests.
One of my favourite things about this ship (and many expedition ships) is the open bridge.

Royal Caribbean The next cruise line I am featuring that will be visiting Australia for the upcoming cruise season is Royal Caribbean. These ships are all about fun and experiences onboard!! Royal Caribbean is known for it's mega ships and there is so much on offer from iFly (indoor skydiving), Flow Rider, bumper cars, laser tag, rock climbing, shows, entertainment, North Star (the extendable arm that rises above the ship) and so much more!
