Congratulations on the approval for an overseas client's self-employed employer-sponsored migration!
This journey was full of twists and turns, but the outcome makes it all worthwhile:
23/10/24: Application lodged.
08/11/24: Received a request for additional evidence regarding Australian business operations. This was surprising since the application was clearly for OBS (Overseas Business Sponsorship).
After some back-and-forth negotiations, the sponsorship was first approved on 20/11/2024.
However, it was soon discovered that the approved sponsorship category was incorrect. We decided to wait for the outcome of the nomination application.
09/01/25 (Today): I received a call from the employer-sponsored team manager at the Department of Home Affairs. They informed me that the previously approved sponsorship category didn't match the nomination category, and they couldn't resolve the issue internally. They offered a workaround: submit a new sponsorship application to proceed with the nomination.
I was deeply moved by their willingness to accommodate us. Without hesitation, I obtained consent from the client and submitted the new sponsorship application within 30 minutes of the call. I then informed the manager. About 20 minutes later, the new sponsorship was approved, and roughly an hour later, the nomination was also approved!
This OBS + self-employed (where the director is the sponsored individual) case was incredibly complex. Achieving such an outstanding outcome in just over two months is nothing short of extraordinary. I feel a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment.
