Have you taken a ride on the South West's famous Busselton Jetty Train? Well did you know..

Last week the Jetty Train hit 10,000 hours, as you can see in the picture below that one of their newest drivers Kristen was lucky enough to capture! 📸
A Return Train Ride on the Busselton Jetty takes roughly 45 minutes, meaning they have done over 13,000 Train trips (give or take) with many more to come!

HISTORIC POST

Extending 1.8 kilometres over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage listed Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Western Australia, it is a must see for any visitor to the Capes Region.

Construction of the Busselton Jetty began in 1865. Beginning as a mere 161 metres, sand drift resulted in an additional 131 metres being added in 1875. Further extensions were made throughout the following 90 years creating the remarkable 1.8 kilometre length.

After more than a century of use and servicing over 5000 vessels, the Busselton Jetty officially closed as a Port in 1973. Once closed to shipping, government maintenance ceased.

❗️Public Service Announcement ❗️

Busselton Jetty would like to advise all local residents and visitors that construction on the $26m end of Jetty facilities, are due to commence soon.

To facilitate the construction, the area north of the Underwater Observatory will be closed to the public for the majority of the construction phase, which will commence at end of Oct 2022 through to end June/– July 2023.

This means that the public will not be able to access the very end of the Jetty during this time.

Good news though – it’s business as usual for all tours with the train and underwater observatory operating as normal (and access to Observatory toilets) for the entire period and visitors can continue to walk the majority of the Jetty to the Observatory.

Once complete, the end of the Busselton Jetty will be a hive of activity with the addition of a marine discovery centre, ocean café featuring the best local wines, craft beers and WA seafood and new volunteer and public amenities for future generations to enjoy!

We are seeking an experienced Front Office Receptionist with excellent customer service skills, a friendly demeanour and a positive attitude to join our friendly team on a casual basis.
Must be able to work every 3rd weekend on rotating shift and at least 10-15hrs days during the week.

This role is suitable to someone who can juggle many tasks at once whilst delivering excellent service. Can work in a busy environment, absorb new information quickly. Involves all aspects of front office reception and sales, including providing friendly, personalised customer service in responding to accommodation enquiries, promoting the business to achieve accommodation sales, processing reservations and ensuring full and accurate data capture, assisting corporate and leisure guests (eg check in, explaining accommodation facilities and location, check out), and ensuring the smooth running of the reception desk and other administrative tasks.
