My first Aotearoa, New Zealand tour. What a stunner of a country! I may have been a mess with pneumonia and lost my passport, but I got through and crossed the 40 year line 🙃 It was a great reminder that I genuinely enjoy connecting with those with a similar curiosity and respect of what travel can bring. It was also a reminder that if you keep expectations at the forefront of your mind, you might miss what is right in front of you.

... side note for my gals and pals... yes, I finally put fear aside and asked for a pay rise. It was met with total support. We all should talk more openly about advocating for ourselves financially. It is not taboo. It is necessary. ✌️

From day 1 to day 28 you've got to be all-in on a group tour. From first slightly- awkward meetings, to hugs and tears goodbye at the end, it's always nice to watch the growth of relationships on the road. The 2023 group handled this non-stop adventure (broken down buses and all) with a team-work mentality that made the stressful moments much easier. Legends.

Last stop. Tropical Far North Queensland 🏝 Cairns, Mossman Gorge, Cape Tribulation, Great Barrier Reef... some of us took time to chill in the pool, some went diving, and some went up to explore Kuranda. One last group dinner with full of hugs and kind words. It's an effort from all involved and is truly a full-on Aussie adventure!

We said goodbye to the Red Centre and flew to The Top End. The energy and spiritual feeling at Kakadu is something out of this World. It holds a very special place in my heart. Kakadu apple.... not my favourite, but I gave it a try. And remember to never smile at a Crocodile 😊

Coober Pedey to Kings Canyon and our third state border crossing! We headed underground at and learnt all about Opal discovery then slept in an underground bunk house! Crossing into NT, we enjoyed sunrise at the stunning Kings Canyon. Loved our stay even if the donkey kept us up during the night 🤣 hee haw, all a part of this epic adventure.

Great Ocean Road, Grampians with some bus trouble in between. After a cloudy morning, the weather really pulled through for an amazing afternoon along the G.O.R. Waterfalls, native animals, and panoramic views in the Grampians made up for a broken-down bus-swap mid-tour!

The Blue Mountains. After a cloudy morning, the skies opened up and gave us perfect conditions to explore the region. Our guide Greg has the best energy and passion when teaching us about the ecology, geography and The Dreaming of the mountains.

It's been a minute, but we finished the tour! One of our final week highlights was a gorgeous day out on the Grest Barrier Reef with The service, food and energy from this team is incredible. Cannot thank them enough for making our guests day so special!!

One last photo at Kakadu, then we headed for Katherine. Being on the first boat out meant we got to see the Gorge without the crowds 🙌 with a warm swim at Edith Falls to top off our time in the wonderful Top End.
