Recently on a 9 Grasswren Tour in Australia’s Outback. All 9 Grasswren were found and 230 other bird species. What a trip!!

Just returned from working with in the Kimberley, Western Australia. Over 8 days we drove from Broome to Kununurra along the Gibb River Road. There were 4WD, light planes and helicopters used to track down the elusive Black Grasswren. Unfortunately I dipped but two in the group had a glimpse.
A successful trip with 195 bird species identified in various habitats. Thanks to Louis Maserai for leading the tour

On the birding trail in south west WA. Finding all the local endemic species, plenty of sub-species and enjoying the great weather, friendly locals and birdlife.

Some cool birds from the WA trip.There are 17 local endemics in the south west. Over 7 days we found all of them, some sun-species and 9 lifers. Great trip with @ Martin Allen who has now joined the ranks of the top 100 Aussie birders on E-bird.

Western Fieldwren captured at Salt River Rd, Salt Lake. Took a while to find these guys but perseverance is the key to hunting down birds.
Also inland Hooded Plovers ssp rubricollis on a salt lake

Recent trip to the South Island NZ. Visited Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch but not for a birding trip!! Although I did manage to sneak a few hours here and there. Enjoy the pics

I do enjoy the Currawong flight pattern. It loops every few wing flaps. Just look at the golden eye colour

Musk Lorikeets are everywhere on the northern beaches atm. The eucalyptus trees are blossoming and the incessant noise of both Musk and Rainbow Lorikeets can be overwhelming 😀

A beautiful morning on the Chiltern Trail, Sydney’s northern beaches. Plenty of water for the birds after the recent storm. The honeyeaters are active and the usual birds are calling and feeding on the native eucalyptus trees and banksia bushes.
In all 34 species were identified with Aussie Bird Tours 👍😊

South Polar Skua seen on a recent Terrigal pelagic. Showing classic light brown head, neck and flanks as well as wedge-shaped tail. Only about 20 ebird records in NSW. Mega!!
