W A L K T H R O U G H
Our Mosman project as featured in best bathroom and kitchens recently.
Working within the existing footprint and completely transforming and modernising the rear of this heritage bungalow.
This kitchen is by far one of my favourites with its hero upright stove in matte black and brass, oversized pendants and storage for miles.

Reclaiming the guest room back from being the home office was a big part of the brief for our Milsons Point Project.
With the new study built we repurposed the bed from the other guest bed and even the old master bedside tables and mirror too.
The additions New lamps, new textiles + linens, new window treatments (sheer wall of linen) and the guest room returned better than ever.

B E D H E A D
With a little customised bed head we were able to reconfigure the smaller of the 2 guest bedrooms to create more space, particularly to get access to the robe.
The shelf detail is great for displaying artwork + books. The bead head also allowed us to add wall sconces avoiding the need for bulky lamps.

We love our clients fur babies and always consider their needs too.
Her favourite sunny spot by the window now elevated with a beautiful view over sydney harbour.

We transformed this WIR into a more functional, storage packed, beautiful space with custom joinery, new window treatments to allow more light and a continuation of the new timber floor.

Monochromatic sophistication continued into the primary suite at our Milson Point Project.
Connecting back to the living spaces with the bollection moulding, recovered the existing bed bed in a gorgeous short pile velvet, new bedsides and wall sconces, bedding and rug.

A serene powder room look for our Milsons Point project using super white fluted marble and penny round floor tiles, wallpaper, blush + brass accents.
The laundry dividing wall converted into sliding fluted glass to allow natural light to filter right through not only the powder room but the entry too.

We created not 1 but 2 additional rooms in our Milsons Point Apartment project (yes within the existing footprint!)
One of the guest bedrooms had been overrun by the need for a private work space and so a dedicated office space was born. The second room is a multifunctional media/2nd tv room that also duals as an additional guest bedroom.
2 additional rooms, gaining a bedroom back and only losing a small sitting area…. The Magic of spatial design!

We were inspired by the palette of the office artwork and so specified oak, whisky leather and midnight velvet for a more masculine and professional palette.

A R C H
Its such a seductive form and gracefully strong structurally, it’s no wonder we are seeing the resurgence of the modern arch in our building design, interiors and furniture.
(It was also my favourite play school window 😉)
The arched bookcase design at our Milsons Point project is the hero of living room and anchors both living and dining, while the use of black oak connects the 2 spaces back to the kitchen.
Secondary to function as a place to display treasures it also made use of a dead space without the need to lose the existing window and created a light well at the darkest point of the living room.

A R T
While I’m on the topic of art this dreamy Mediterranean print was the only new piece of art believe it or not purchased for our Milsons Point Project. With such a fine collection of art already we didn’t want to not see any of them return, some required reframing and adjusting to suit the new palette but we think this piece fits just right into the kitchen with the beautiful sydney harbour beyond. 🤍

S P A C E
Creating best use of space is ultimately the role of a designer.
From a sitting room hardly used at our Milsons Point Project to a functioning family sized dining room.
Balanced and connected to its surroundings creates not only best use of space but also the illusion of more!
Beautiful Australian crafted furniture compliments a restored antique existing piece and art work we kept in the original frame and brought colour through the textiles of linen sheers and dining chairs.

Readjusting the existing layout and pinching some space from storage behind we were able to create a gorgeous pantry space for our Milsons Point Kitchen.
Concealed behind a fluted glass pivot door open or closed it adds the elevated kitchen function we all adore while still looking beautiful.

C O N T R A S T
I adore black and white mostly because of the layers of detail inbetween that go into it to make it feel less jarring.
This black oak island with black butlers sink is one of my favs to date. In contrast with the all white surrounding joinery she’s a hero that’s for sure but balanced and softened by the herringbone cocoa timber floor, brass hardware, Joinery profiles and oak over solid black.

Apartment entry’s are notoriously difficult to nail given majority of access is located centrally to the buildings structure.
Creating something to draw you in and also not waste precious space is key. This oversized hall feels entry worthy, lavished with details at eye level and creates the illusion of more space.
So excited to share more of this finished project in addition to the feature this month. lots of before and afters as always.

A fresh bathroom look with a nod to the traditional Art Deco structure.
Green terrazzo floor tiles, hand glazed seafoam wall tiles, Carrara marble, chrome old English tapware with the cocoa oak and rattan vanity as the hero.
My favourite mixed metals with touches of black and brass complete the Classic but contemporary look 🤍

I adore the way these finger tiles accentuate the original curves of the walls of this Art Deco home.
We could have easily lost these little details with a larger format tile and squared everything up but the right format should always be the first choice…. Luckily they came in the most perfect colourway too!
The darker grout ties back into the black stone/Sam grout floor and black oak cabinetry.

A fresh fun extension of the sexy ensuite is this light filled walk in wardrobe.
An existing curved wall wrapped in colour with Tropicana wallpaper and a custom linen ottoman in the matching print by connects at the foot of the master bed.
Unfitted antique furniture and sisal flooring create a more relaxed feel.

The love for deep sea blue continues with finger tiles the perfect choice to wrap and accentuate the original Art Deco curves.
Elevated with a black oak, his and hers vanity, New York marble and glam hardware.

This space once was a WIR we converted it to be the ensuite off the master bed and created a new larger WIR in the smaller second bedroom space adjacent.

Same angle different view!

Levelling out, extending and retaining some of the rear yard was critical the natural land slope wasn’t very functional.
(Kept the big frangipani Ofcourse)
In doing this we were also able to reinstate an original pool location with a new modernised tiled pool added a level lawn in conjunction with the guest house, a stunning outdoor fire place and outdoor bbq kitchen.
Making it all feel like it’s always been here.
