Day 5: Wed 30/6. 52 km along WAA line with (Mike driving (sand bog up a dune - winched out by Gaz and Matt). Lunch then onto the Rig Road. Tracked a dingo’s prints west on the track for 2-3 km before we caught up with him. Wonder if we’ll get a visit tonight? Onite on the Rigg Road 15km west of Coulson R. Day 10: Mon 05/7. Bit of cloud cover and slightly warmer this morning but the NE breeze kept if fresh. Got up for am comfort metoprolol at 5.30am and noticed a Min Min light low on the horizon to the east. I chose to walk west. Another sensational brekky bacon, egg and cheese wrap with BBQ Sauce and camp coffee. On the road/track 9.25am Qld Time. Much easier driving right from the get go today. Met up with other travellers at Camp 16 The Blaze Tree. 3 more camels sighted but they didn’t really like the drone following them. Picking up some ABC radio reception. O’nite between camps 19 and 20. 115km for the day. Built a fire and enjoyed 4sies (cheese/olives/pickles and biscuits. Chicken mini-roasts in camp oven and ice-cream for dessert. Stayed up and read by the fire for a bit. Night 6 in the desert.

Day 11: Tues 06/7 Clear skies and the usual enjoyable ritual for breakfast. Packed up and on the road at 0912. Quite a few head of very healthy Poll Hereford cattle on this section. Smoko of damper and coffee and at 1134 Xavier finally declared “I’m full!” Onto the intersection with the QAA line onite. 124km in 2 hr 24 min driving time today. Early finish today at 1307 in a small creek just east of Eyre Creek proper. Xavi has smashed the wood chopping target for today. Very impressive. Steak and Pasta and a great campfire. Day 12: Wed 07/7 Overnite camp a bit dusty but not cold all good. Brekky and then underway at 0835. Into Birdsville. The Birdsville to Birdsville loop was (1300+ km) kept going to Bedourie in for late - smoko Kahlua and coffee damper with honey and a coffee.
