✈ Accessible Air Travel is Taking Off!

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has announced sweeping new protections for airline passengers with disabilities, marking a historic step forward for accessible travel. These groundbreaking rules, effective January 16, 2025, set new standards for ensuring safe, dignified, and stress-free air travel for everyone.

Key highlights include:
• Competency-based training for staff assisting passengers with disabilities.
• Prompt return, repair, nt for mobility devices.
• Clear communication of rights when checking and retrieving mobility aids.
• Free rebooking and enhanced seating accommodations.

This is the most significant expansion of rights for Disabled airline passengers in decades, driven by dedicated advocacy and Secretary Buttigieg’s commitment to inclusion.
