Today marks a special milestone for MTA - Mobile Travel Agents — 25 years of empowering independent travel advisors and redefining the travel industry!

Founded in 2000 by industry pioneers Karen and Roy Merricks, MTA was built on a vision: to create a network that gave travel advisors, especially women, the opportunity to run their own businesses while maintaining the flexibility to raise a family. What began as a bold idea has evolved into one of Australia’s leading networks of successful, independent travel professionals.

Tribal Tuesday!

Huli Wigmen, Papua New Guinea.

Known for their vibrant feathered headdresses and painted faces, the Huli Wigmen of Papua New Guinea create striking rituals to honor their ancestors and display tribal pride. Their traditions, passed down through generations, celebrate the power of connection with the land and spirits.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Waterton Lakes National Park several times, and it’s truly one of my favourite places to stay in Canada. While Banff often steals the spotlight, Waterton is its serene, magical counterpart—a place that feels like stepping into a postcard.

The charming Prince of Wales Hotel, perched atop a bluff with breathtaking views of the glacier-ringed lakes, looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale. It’s the perfect spot to pause and soak in the grandeur of this national treasure.

Waterton Lakes National Park is part of the UNESCO-listed Waterton Glacier International Peace Park, sharing its borders with Montana’s Glacier National Park. Tucked away in southwest Alberta, it offers a quieter, less crowded experience while still delivering stunning landscapes and plenty of adventures.

If you’re planning a trip to Canada, I can’t recommend Waterton enough. Whether you want to unwind in its beauty or explore all it has to offer, it’s an experience you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Edmonton's crisp winter air makes for some magical days outdoors, and its dry climate makes it one of Canada's sunniest cities.

With 325 days of bright sunshine each year, winter temperatures range between -5°C (23°F) to -15°C (5°F), but don't worry — the right layers will keep you cozy all day long.

Snowfall can also happen as early as November and as late as March, making Edmonton a great place to enjoy activities like skating, snowshoeing, and fatbiking.

I love it when friends become clients and clients become friends, as is the case Rian and Lorenza.

And I love it even more when I get to spend time with them sharing stories, laughter and hearing of their adventures to Europe, which I helped the ladies with earlier this year. This is going to be a regular catchup. ❤️

Yesterday at lunch was great fun. The next patron, Rachel, hadn't rocked up for her 3pm time slot, so we extended our laughter on overtime. 😁

It's a hot one in Adelaide today!

Wow, I can’t believe I went the whole month of November without posting here! And now, it’s already December – full steam ahead to Christmas and New Year festivities! 🎄✨

The life of a Travel Advisor and sole trader can be a whirlwind at the best of times, and these last few months have been no exception. October, November, and December have kept me on my toes, with so many of you planning amazing trips for 2025 and even into 2026! At times, I’ll admit it’s been a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with all the enquiries – but rest assured, I’m fully committed to giving you the care and attention you deserve.

On a personal note, I’ve realised how important it is to look after my own health and wellbeing – because without that, I can’t be my best self for you! Lately, I’ve been making some big changes: focusing on eating fresh, wholesome foods, cutting way back on alcohol (hello, water!), and even growing my own veggies. I’ve also been prioritising regular early-morning walks – whether it’s along the beach, by the river, at the local oval, or just around the neighbourhood. I've even been "dog sitting'! It’s become my little way of clearing my mind and recharging.

I’ve also started meditating a few times a week – usually at the beach or by the river – and I’m amazed at how much this combination of movement, mindfulness, and healthy eating has helped. My back pain and leg pain have eased up, and I’ve lost 11.5kg along the way! It’s a work in progress, but each day I’m feeling stronger and more focused.

To anyone still waiting for a response, I genuinely appreciate your patience – I haven’t forgotten you, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to help with your travel plans.

Thank you for sticking with me, and I promise there’ll be more regular updates from here on out! For now, here’s a little glimpse into what I’ve been up to lately. Enjoy! 😊✈️🌍

Bali is known for its healthy foodspots, surfing, yoga, picturesque beaches, friendly locals, parties, shopping, and, of course, cheap and nice massages.

Bali is a happy place for so many, like my clients Nicole and Abbie who just spent a week there.

Bali caters to many sides of my clients. For sisters Nicole and Abbie – the spiritual being, the relaxation, the adventurer, the hipster, the massage ju**ie, and the bonding and fun sisters can share over a sunset cocktail or two.

Whatever you feel like, on any given day, I'm pretty sure Bali will be able to provide that experience. It’s within arm’s reach. On top of that, everything is of great premium quality, yet so inexpensive.

I can't wait to hear more about Nicole and Abbie's time away!

There's so much to know about me – but at the end of the day it's actually about you and what you want! I am an experienced traveller, life lover, adventure seeker and I have travelled to most parts of the globe - I want to be your travel dream weaver!

Back in 1993, I chose to lean out of my comfort zone to a new career in the travel industry and I've never looked back. My experiences have run the whole gambit from running, owning and working in travel agencies, to freelancing, lecturing in an academic environment and working with specialty travel agents in a wholesale environment – being the agent of choice to travel agents!

With a charismatic demeanor, people tend to warm to me quickly and given the opportunity, I know you will too! I will take the time to get to know you, understand your needs and work with you every step of the way in building your personalised itinerary.
