The ‘4Torri’ Tour encapsulates everything I’ve ever wanted to provide in a Running event. Not only is the event a challenging - and scenic - course, the food from this region offers some of the best in Italy. Emilia-Romagna - known for its cuisine, and home to Parmesan Cheese, Balsamic Vinegar, Prosciutto, to name a few, and the home of Ferrari. We get to run a number of courses in the vicinity, and enjoy day-to-day life in the town of Pavullo Nel Frignano with no sign of tourists. Take a sip of the ‘Aqua di Sulfuro’ natural water fountain if you are game. Your body will thank you for it

Birramisú anyone?

One of the advantages of running is that you can enjoy and appreciate all food with a passion. It not only fuels us for running but it is so much more.

On our Trento Track Tours, we get to visit a number of incredible and unique spots for our Lunches and Dinners. The Forst Beer Garden is one of these. Set high above Trento, we eat, drink and celebrate food with a Northern-Italian Influence. While I was suspicious of the beer replacing the coffee in my Birramisú, it was balanced very very nicely.

Our persistance in seeing the amazing in concert for a second time was rewarded when we met the talented musician (from Carpi, BO) as we headed back to our hotel. His collaboration with many titans of contemporary Italian music is incredible. Some of the great artists and songs we love to listen to have their origins with Massimo. Most importantly, a lovely man who was delighted to share the moment with a photo. Thank you Massimo, you would always be welcome with us in AUS

A few days ago, we checked in to our venue in Pavullo Nel Frignano. And yesterday the 4 Torri 14km event was held. It is one of the hardest 14km running events I’ve done. It has 4 very tough climbs. Apart from the start and finish, the course is anything but flat and the terrain is everything from a running track, road, trails, ancient cobblestones track. It tests my every mettle. Then it was off to one of our highlight lunches. We’ll hang around a few days more as there are a few new venues I want to check out

As we go into our Pavullo Nel Frignano Tour, we spent a few nights in Lucca to check-in on our selected venues. The Objective of our Tours is to be both a food tour and a running tour - in one. Today’s cheese and spinach ravioli comes with a hazelnut sauce and another with a honey-based sauce. Very nice indeed

We’re readying for the 4 Torri event in Pavullo Nel Frignano. Not long now. Like all our hand-picked events, the 4 Torri is not only challenging as the name suggests (4 Hills), we get to experience lots of amazing food in a town that is quintessential Italy

With the pre-week now booked in the lovely town of Taormina, the magical Eolie Running Tour is now locked and loaded to start 9-September.
5 Stages over 6 days on the magical Aeolian Islands (Isole Eolie), a short hydrofoil ride from Milazzo. The weather is sure to be warm, although the finish line is never more than a few hundred metres away and, it’s straight into the drink and into recovery mode within minutes from the finish line
