Autumn has definitely arrived at 3488 Merricks. There was lots of hard work to be done in the garden taking the dead heads off our magnificent birds of paradise and trying to tame our passion fruit vines which had produced some amazing fruit over the summer.

We also appreciated the magnificent gardens at the Merricks General Wine Store. The colours of nature are simply amazing!!

We've had a fantastic and busy summer with lots of weddings, families and groups of friends enjoying the house and its beautiful surrounds.

3488 Merricks is also a great base to explore all the fun things to do with the family in the Mornington Peninsula during the upcoming Easter holidays.

We are thrilled to be back down at 3488 Merricks this weekend getting everything shipshape for all the guests who will be joining us for a busy summer season.

Whilst some of our potted plants have struggled during this lockdown, the garden is absolutely thriving!!

We are so excited to welcome you back to 3488 Merricks after yet another very long enforced break!

Since we re-opened our doors last June after Melbourne Lockdown 1.0, we have had to cancel 30% of our bookings, with another 10% postponed to a future date.

It has certainly been a very challenging time, as it has been for many other small businesses and accommodation providers.

However, we are looking forward to brighter times ahead and are so excited to be able to host guests again from mid-November onwards.

After opening our doors 20 months ago 3488 Merricks has been closed for as long as it’s been open and the balance is now shifting to being closed more than we’re open!
We are counting the days to November when we anticipate we can host guests again. Our calendar is already starting to fill up for 2022 with many 2020 & 2021 bookings pushed back.
So many celebrations postponed we look to 2022 with cautious optimism for affording families the chance to get away and relax and girls weekends to be back on the menu ###

Just love the evolution of small visions realised. We transform our surroundings so guests can transform themselves amid peaceful relaxation. This little project is barely half done, the process and the journey is as rewarding as the end result. Unsure what this space will be though it’s referred to as ‘The Sanctuary’ - a quiet space for transformation or perhaps just a place to doze.

It felt so good to get back down to 3488 Merricks this weekend after we had to shut down again due to Melbourne lockdown 4.0. 😞

This afternoon we explored beautiful Somers Beach - only a few kms down the road from us. There was a treasure trove of sea life and vegetation to discover on the beach and it was wonderful to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach.

We still have availability the second week of the school holidays - from 3 to 11 July.

Although our weekends are fully booked, you can still visit us from Monday to Friday during the (hopefully) warm summer months of February and March.

Many of us are still working remotely - so why don't you bring your laptop down and enjoy some work/life balance in this divine part of Victoria.

You could pop to the Merricks General Wine Store for a morning coffee, head over to a local winery for your lunch break and go for a lovely walk at one of our beautiful local beaches or the nearby Red Hill - Merrick Rail Trail after your working day.
