Three more amazing humans to give thanks to on this lovely Sunday afternoon 🌞

Jodie, Bronwyn and Patricia ❤️

Jodie has a wicked sense of humour and can just about give you directions to anywhere in Mitchell that you need to get to, without even blinking an eye. Jodie will often be seen around town and helping out with maintenance at Kings Park with her loyal sidekick, Tiger, who is always welcome in the Centre.

Bronwyn not only works at the Centre but plays a major role in the Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn. This group puts on many events for the local community, one of the biggest being the Seymour Show and Shine which is held on Labour Day Weekend each year.

Patricia is a big bundle of happiness wrapped up in a teeny tiny little package. Patricia is always up-skilling her knowledge of the region, and is one of the founding members of the Spinners and Weavers, who also operate from the Old Courthouse. You can join their Crafty Crew and come on down to meet them, every Wednesday morning.

Pauline, Pauline, Pauline, Pauliiiinnnnnneeeee!

Pauline is one of Mitchell’s creative geniuses and she also devotes a lot of time to the Visitor Centre.

An avid art lover with a super creative mind, Pauline is also one of the driving forces behind the Seymour and District Art Society. Their annual event, Art Beyond the Divide, is being held in November this year, and if arts and culture is your thing then you should definitely grab a ticket! Pauline will be there to welcome you, just as she does everyone who walks through the doors of the Information Centre.

Happy National Volunteer Week, Michael!

Michael has been with the Visitor Centre since it first opened, approximately 25 years ago.

Long time Mitchell residents, Michael and his family have an extensive knowledge of what there is to see and do in the area and also managed one of our major caravan parks back in the day.

Michael is our Superman of the Old Courthouse, there is no problem too big or too small for him to manage and he always comes up with a solution in a calm and comforting way. We would be lost without him!

Don’t know what we’d do without you Michael! ❤️

Look, a bit of a rough day at the Visitor Centre won’t ever stop Ruth from smiling!

You may already know Ruth, she has devoted her time to the Centre for approximately 15 years and helps out almost every single community group in Seymour. Ruth always goes above and beyond for our visitors, often giving them a guided tour of the area or providing a much appreciated lift when needed 😀 🚗

Ruth is also incredibly lucky and will take home the first prize in almost every raffle she has entered, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving winner, after everything she does for the region and our visitors.

We love you Ruth! 💋

Visitor Centre closed now, until next week💬

Due to a building fault and some internal damage we've had to close the Visitor Information Centre while we coordinate vital maintenance works.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will provide an update on the reopening as soon as possible.

Everyone, meet John!

John is another one of our amazing volunteers at the Information Centre and we can always count on him to come along and be a part of our many pop-up events that we attend each year.

John loves a good camping trip and will often chase the sun around during a Mitchell Winter so if you’d like to pop in and say thanks, make sure you do before the cold weather well and truly sets in!

Today marked the start of one of our favourite weeks in Mitchell - National Volunteer Week!

Volunteers play such a huge role in our region and the Seymour Visitor Information Centre is lucky to have 15 of them who choose to spend their time with us!

Robyn and Lola have been with the Centre for a combined total of approximately 25 years, which is amazing! They are both so dedicated to helping each and every one of our visitors and will always greet you with a beautiful smile on their faces!

Come on down to this amazing market and snap up some last minute Christmas gifts!

From 11.30am, Trawool Estate are hosting their Bottomless Brunch, with a two hour drinks package included. Check availability first.

Later, the Wandong Community Christmas Carols will take place at Wandong Public Hall from 4.30pm. Santa arrives at 6pm and the carols will commence at 6.30. Free sausage sizzle for all.

It's happening tonight!

Community Bank Christmas Carols from 6pm at Hudson Park in Kilmore.

Market stalls, food trucks, kids entertainment, beautiful carols and a visit from the Man in Red.

This is a free event.

Please note there may be a large number of people attending, please plan ahead with parking, be patient and spread some Christmas joy.

The Seymour Visitor Information Centre is currently closed as we are in the midst of refurbishing our home in the Old Courthouse and Art Gallery!

We look forward to re-opening our doors and welcoming you all when we re-open in late December.

Mitchell has so many local businesses who are so knowledgeable about the region, make sure you ask them for their tips on where to visit if you are here before we re-open.

We're back!!! 3 months after the floods, our Visitor Information Centre at Seymour has re-opened. We’ve got news – we’re going to be on TV! 🙌 Watch Mitchell in all its glory in the new SBS TV Show called Trail Towns, a 6-part series that explores the best way to have a holiday with your bike. 🚴 The episode follows the Great Victorian Rail Trail from Tallarook onto Mansfield and shows the fantastic surrounding region and many attractions to the views. It’s got special highlights on Wandong, Seymour, Tallarook and Trawool, and we can’t wait to see our towns and attractions shine.
