Lunaganga has been sold to Teardrop Hotels. It was not the most well-managed place but let's hope it doesn't go too upmarket. Should be accessible to lovers of Bawa architecture forever and at a reasonable price.

Big shout out to my DMC partner Jetwing. I had 14 Aussie cricket players gong for a tour in April. Jetwing management and staff have been excellent with their service and diligence and have paid back all the payment as a refund. They are an excellent company and a pleasure to work with.

Sri Lanka will be opening up to travel from August 1st. The country has done very well in the fight against COVID. Arriving travelers must:
* visitors must have a negative pre-departure PCR test.
* visa fee will be $100 and a minimum 5-night stay
* accommodation must be at certified providers

The Bawa Architecture Tour goes virtual.
In two weeks, June 4, Best of Sri Lanka Tour was to start the Bawa Architecture Tour In Colombo. Obviously, we can't go now because of COVID-19 so let's do it online instead. Tmrw, I will be sending out a video link to the virtual tour. One of my favourite hotels inside Galle Fort is the Fort Printer. It's an old printing factory and has been loving restored. Pool is perfect for a quick dip after Breakfast. Food here is excellent.

Pools! SL has some of the most incredible pools. This one is at the Hotel Sigiriya. That's Lion Rock in the background. Its great to climb the rock in the morning and then laze around the pool.

Latest updates from Sri Lanka Tourism on COVID-19:

- There have been no deaths resulting from COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.

- Presently there are no positive cases of the epidemic in Sri Lanka.

- Sole COVID-19 patient in Sri Lanka was discharged from the hospital after recovery on 19 Feb 2020.

- The Sri Lankan Government is not allowing entry to visitors from Italy, South Korea and Iran. Quarantine stations have been established to house anyone arriving from these countries.

- Sri Lanka has also taken steps to immediately stop allowing passengers on cruise ships arriving at the ports of the country to disembark.

- On 4th Feb 2020, the government suspended the issuance of visas on arrival to Chinese tourists as a preventive measure to control the spread of the virus in the country.

- The Government of Sri Lanka is monitoring the situation closely and continue to take all necessary measures to ensure carriers of the Corona Virus cannot enter the country via Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and 24-hour monitoring is conducted including body temperature screening machines to detect the virus with the assistance of the Health and Indigenous Medicine Services Ministry and Sri Lanka Army medical teams.

- Sri Lanka continues to welcome guests to Sri Lanka; with arrivals of 228,434 in January and 207,507 in Feb 2020.

- This month, the largest source market for tourists was India, followed by the United Kingdom and the Russian Federation.
