Gippsland’s favourite garlic festival 🧄 is back on Saturday 8 March, with a new home at the Korumburra Showgrounds.

The South Gippsland Garlic Festival (formerly Meeniyan Garlic Festival) is Victoria’s biggest celebration of Australian garlic, with over 70 stalls featuring garlic products, growers 👨‍🌾, and cooking tips. Enjoy garlic-infused dishes, local beers, wines 🍷, live entertainment 🎸, and activities for the kids.

Renowned chefs 👨‍🍳, including Chef Alejandro Saravia of Farmer's Daughters, alongside Jodie Odrowaz and Michael Clark from Messmates Dining, will lead cooking demonstrations 🍽.

The fun doesn’t stop at the festival gate with pubs 🍺, cafes and bakeries 🍞 throughout Korumburra offering up garlic-themed creations.

Moody Metung at sunrise 🌅

Take a picturesque stroll around the edge of Bancroft Bay (with a rod 🎣, bait and tackle, if you like) along the Metung Boardwalk, taking in Legend Rock, a meteorite 🌠 entrenched in Gunaikurnai mythology.

With over 600 kilometres of coastline, Gippsland is spoilt with its choice of beaches. From wild, windswept coastlines to calm protected bays, there is so much diversity to explore. The region also offers you the opportunity to see wildlife ‘in the wild’, with kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, koalas and emus relaxed in their natural environment.

Gippsland’s food, wine and beer scene is expanding year on year with renowned chefs and winemakers moving to set up exciting new venues in the region, drawn by its array of premium, cool climate wines, quality cheese, free range meats, seafood and organic fruit and vegetables. Our region now boasts two hatted restaurants and many awarded wineries of which we are all very proud.
