BREAKING NEWS: Minnipa Hotel will now be open on Saturdays from 11am & Sundays from 11am-2pm! Whilst we have had a couple of hiccups along the way, we are still endeavouring to increase our availability to the town and surrounds. Along with accommodation packages including a continental breakfast & option for a cooked breakfast. If anyone in the community would like a treat in the morning of a cooked breakfast please book the day before with Rusty & Kate on 0447 735 628.

Exiting News: Sunday brings the launch of Minnipa Hotel's new resident food trailer! Open Saturdays, Sundays all day and Monday night, Chef Dave will be back on deck offering starter takeaway meals including Arancini Balls, Fish & Chips, Squid Chips, Calamari Schnitzels, Dino Nuggets, Spring Rolls, Salads & more! From next week he will be extending his offering to include Kebabs, Burgers & DONUTS!
Please come down to the Train Barracks & enjoy 1st day deals..we would love your feedback to keep our endeavour on track in making Minnipa more accessible, thank you & cheers!

PILDAPPA ROCK IS NOW OPEN!

Major works are now complete, and Pildappa Rock Recreation Reserve is now open to the public.

However some minor works are still being undertaken, so please be mindful of ongoing work in the area.

Please also note, the Picnic Shelter and BBQ facilities are currently unavailable, and camping is no longer permitted within the area.

Make sure you're following Pildappa Park Campground - a privately-owned campground that will soon open for camping adjacent to the rock.

Pildappa again, because we can’t get enough of this wave rock formation! Just a short drive from Minnipa, and a slightly longer drive from Wudinna, Pildappa is one you must put on the bucket list. In the area, check out the local pub for delicious eats, try the local bakery’s excellent goodies and take some time to explore the other must-sees – the Australian Farmer statue, Mount Wudinna and the walking trail to Polda Rock Reserve. 📷

Wildflower season is upon us! And after this years' summer rains, they are blooming in abundance throughout the outback, Gawler Ranges National Park and beyond.

There are even Sturt Desert Peas flowering near Lake Gairdner, Mount Ive and Hiltaba - definitely a sight to see!

Now is the perfect time to explore, with wildflowers in bloom from June to October annually. So start planning your trip today!

* * * ! ! W H A L E ! ! * * * season is officially open. On your road trip to the Head of the Bight please consider staying at Granite Domes accommodation house in Minnipa. Located 6.5 hours west of Adelaide on the A1, the house sleeps 5 and is fully equipped for self catering. The local pub is also open for meals from 6 pm and the local store can replenish your fuel while providing a morning coffee.

But we have more, the iconic Pildappa Rock and Tcharkulda rocks are close to town. Whilst the majestic Gawler Ranges National Park lay north, a drive of 45 minutes.
