Exiting News: Sunday brings the launch of Minnipa Hotel's new resident food trailer! Open Saturdays, Sundays all day and Monday night, Chef Dave will be back on deck offering starter takeaway meals including Arancini Balls, Fish & Chips, Squid Chips, Calamari Schnitzels, Dino Nuggets, Spring Rolls, Salads & more! From next week he will be extending his offering to include Kebabs, Burgers & DONUTS!

PILDAPPA ROCK IS NOW OPEN!

Major works are now complete, and Pildappa Rock Recreation Reserve is now open to the public.

However some minor works are still being undertaken, so please be mindful of ongoing work in the area.

Please also note, the Picnic Shelter and BBQ facilities are currently unavailable, and camping is no longer permitted within the area.

Make sure you're following Pildappa Park Campground - a privately-owned campground that will soon open for camping adjacent to the rock.

Pildappa again, because we can’t get enough of this wave rock formation! Just a short drive from Minnipa, and a slightly longer drive from Wudinna, Pildappa is one you must put on the bucket list. In the area, check out the local pub for delicious eats, try the local bakery’s excellent goodies and take some time to explore the other must-sees – the Australian Farmer statue, Mount Wudinna and the walking trail to Polda Rock Reserve. 📷

Wildflower season is upon us! And after this years' summer rains, they are blooming in abundance throughout the outback, Gawler Ranges National Park and beyond.

There are even Sturt Desert Peas flowering near Lake Gairdner, Mount Ive and Hiltaba - definitely a sight to see!

Now is the perfect time to explore, with wildflowers in bloom from June to October annually. So start planning your trip today!

Located 6.5 hours west of Adelaide on the A1, the house sleeps 5 and is fully equipped for self catering. The local pub is also open for meals from 6 pm and the local store can replenish your fuel while providing a morning coffee.

"A wave edge of Pildappa Rock near Minnipa and Wudinna on the Eyre Peninsula. Really surprised to almost never hear of anyone talking about this place because it was a great spot to explore and camp if you're on the Eyre Highway. We slept a few metres from one wave after clambering up for sunset to wander the gnamma waterholes. The rock itself is about 400m long with a few wave edges like this, a couple of day-use areas with facilities, and then bush camping by donation down the flanks. (The camping is currently under community review though.)"
