We will be so excited to show you around the sites of Meteora in our September tour! The monasteries built on pillars are breathtaking and an amazing architectural feat.

Following our successful first tour, we have been researching locations for one of our 2024 tours to Northern Greece. We visited the towns of Ioannina and the spectacular monasteries of Meteora, and we will be adding them to the list! We will also be touring the west coast of Greece along the Ioanian Sea. More details to follow. #greektourism #slowtourism #ineedaholiday #Miranztours
Day 14 We visited the beautiful fortified town of Monemvasia off the east coast of the Peleponnese. It is one of the oldest continually-inhabited fortified towns in Europe and such a beautiful town to explore and discover all the history and hidden treasures. #greektourism #ineedaholiday #greeksummer #Miranztours #monemvasia
Day5. We left Athens to head to the Cycladic island of Tinos for a half day on our way to the Island of Syros. if you would like to join next year's tour go to www.miranztors.com.au
Today we experienced only on a Sunday at 11am the official ceremony of the Changing of the Guard with the official dresses. The young men's shoes weigh 3 kilograms each, and they have to go through training and assessment before the can be one of the guards. They rotate on the hour at their station and cannot show any facial expression or movement whilst on their shift.
The Port of Nafpaktos
During our tour, we return to the mainland and drive three hours from Athens to a place called Nafpaktos on the Corinthian Gulf. This is a seaside town not frequented by many tourists but busy with local businesses and people going about their daily business. It is steeped in history and within easy travel distance to a number of beautiful fishing villages, superb beaches on the Corinthian Gulf, mountain villages, a castle, monasteries and Delphi. We will be based here for a few days. There will be some organised activities as well as free time for you to explore.
Pilgrimage to Holy Church of the Virgin Mary Evangelistria
Today we took a 35 minute ferry ride from Syros to Tinos and will stay a couple of nights. Tinos is famous for the Holy Church of the Virgin Mary Evangelistria. People make their pilgrimages here and for healings. Many pilgims make their way to the church on their hands and knees from the port.
