It's finally here - the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony is tonight (or really early tomorrow morning for us in Aus!)!!
Are you a fan of a particular sport or discipline or just a fan of the Olympics in general like me?

Towering mountains and powder-filled runs make for whimsical scenes at Falls Creek ❄️ On the third weekend of August each year, skiing enthusiasts descend on the region to watch or join the coveted Kangaroo Hoppet, a cross country skiing race that takes place over 42 kilometres, creating a buzzing atmosphere both on and off the mountain ⛷️

Lonely Planet have released a fantastic book 'Epic Bike Rides of Australia and New Zealand' and it is full of inspiration for an active holiday! 🚲
There's rides for all levels and styles and even a feature of 'Gears & Beers', a bike ride followed by a craft beer festival, that is local to me.

Japan has been one of the most popular destinations with a 50% increase on Australian travellers (!) but this popularity has come at a cost - there's never been more people climbing Mt Fuji, or more accidents on the mountain!
To reduce the risk of accidents, and hopefully preserve the UNESCO World Heritage site as best as possible, there is now a cap on the amount of tourists able to climb each day as well as a fee of approx $20AUD/person.
