Overland Track bookings for the 2023/24 season open at 9am on Tuesday 4 July.

With only 34 places each day, popular dates can sell out very quickly and we recommend that you plan alternate dates in case your preferred date is unavailable.

If booking for a group, please have the names, date of birth, State and nationality ready to enter for each party member.

Please also ensure you have your credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) and any relevant concession card information ready for ease of processing.

: Tasmania will keep its border open to travellers from New South Wales for now, with the exception of the Sydney Northern Beaches council area and several other high risk “hot spots” in Kirribilli, Peakhurst and Penrith.

Tasmanians returning from those areas will need to prove residency and apply through the G2G app, and will be quarantined on arrival and required to take a covid test within 48 hours. They can quarantine at home if their residence is suitable, otherwise in a State Government hotel.

Entry to the state from low risk areas of NSW will still be allowed for now.

NSW has recorded 10 new coronavirus cases today linked to the Northern Beaches cluster, taking the total to 28 cases linked to the Northern Beaches cluster in Sydney, including a person who travelled to Queensland and then returned to New South Wales.

Winter in Hobart - we are loving Dark M**o! Put this on your calendar each year - June is a fabulous time to visit.

The Spectra light is by Japanese sound and light artist Ryoji Ikeda and projects an iconic beam of light 15km into the night sky. The ever-popular light installation spectra is made up of 49 Xenon searchlights and wil be illuminated from MONA - Museum of Old and New Art from Thursday 20th June until Sunday 23rd June. It can easily be seen from all around Hobart.

The art work provokes a feeling of something indescribable, something sublime and unearthly, something unforgettable.
