Another family trip done & dusted.
Bali for Christmas & New Years.
We stayed in a 5 bedroom private villa in Seminyak with another family.
The villa was amazing- 2 large pools & plenty of room for both families. The staff were amazing.
During the first 7 days we did breakfast with the Orangutans & tubing in Ubud.
Day at Finns splash park
We hired nanny's a few times for adult only time. Highly recommended. Need recommendations please let me know & I also have a great driver that I use myself & for clients.
Getting around was hard during the Christmas period mainly due to locals Indonesia's travelling so the traffic was insane. If you are travelling over this period I highly recommend staying somewhere that is walking distance to restaurants keeping in mind the humidity.
Next stop was Hard Rock for 5 nights.
So mamy activities for the kids, its an amazing resort. We upgraded to include the rock royalty package which gave us access to a quiet pool, afternoon tea, cocktails & afternoon tea. We had a pool access room which isn't a traditional pool access, it just meant ground floor, little hiccup with our room so we moved after night 1. Cabana at Hard Rock are an additional charge & can be pre booked which I highly recommend. I pre-booked Cabana 8 which gave us a great view of most of the pool.
One thing I will say is the compulsory NYE package wasn't great. Seemed to be a lack of communication but we did have a great night. Fireworks go off every few minutes.
Waterbom- I had pre-booked a cabana in the new section which was worth it when the kids needed a break.
We were so lucky with the weather, it only rained 3 times & not for long. The humidity was high but the kids handled it well.

Time to renew your passport! 📘

If you need to renew your passport, now is the time to do it with not one, but two price increases on the cards in 2024. The first will arrive on New Year’s Day with a 15% increase, with the second coming in the next financial year.

Currently, a 10-year passport costs around $325 but with the increase this is set to soar to almost $400.

I have just returned from 6 nights in Bali staying at Peppers Seminyak in a 5 bedroom villa with 4 other friends. Amazing hotel with a great breakfast. Buffet with hot dishes made fresh daily. The hotel is set back off the main road but offers a shuttle to the road which is great on those hot & humid days. Highlight on this trip was eating amazing food.
Night 1 - in room seafood bbq
Night 2 - Ayana Resort for more seafood & a nightcap at the rock bar
Night 3 - Mano Beach House
Night 4 - Hotel Mexicola (amazing Mexican)
Nights 5 - Da Maria (best lemon butter prawn pasta I have ever eaten)
Night 6 - Barbocoa (meat lovers dream)
Virgin was great & everything ran on time, only downfall was the wifi wasn't working on the way over so I recommend downloading some shows just incase.

Alan and I finished our Fijian holiday at the Naviti. They consider this a 4 star hotel but I would rate it at a 3-3.5 star. Its located on the Coral Coast so approximately 2 hours from the airport. Again, this resort is great for families. Lots of daily activities, 3 sessions a day for kids club & its free if they are 5 & over. They offer all inclusive which includes meals, drinks & as many ice- creams as the kids can eat between 11am-7pm. They can also cater for larger families offering interconnecting rooms.

Fiji on the bucket list? I am currently staying on Plantation Island. This is the perfect Island for families or a multi generational family holiday that are not looking for 5 star. Its about a 50 minute launch transfer from Denarau. Its a 3-3.5 star hotel in a 5 star location. Accommodation ranges from hotel rooms, beachfront hotel rooms, garden & beach bures.
