Oops! I forgot to post about our lovely day at Morad's brother's place (the Moroccan connection is strong!). Hassan and his wife Mayte prepared another wonderful meal for us looking out across yet another perfect Moroccan vista of farmland and ancient cork trees. We were well and truly spoiled by Morad's hospitality yesterday. Not to mention the bonus view of Spain and Gibraltar from his balcony! Now just to loosen the belt another notch and get ready for the return journey.

We had a farewell to Morocco lunch at the home of Outback Beds Tours favourite, Morad Chatt. Not only did Morad share more of his knowledge of Morocco with our guests, but he arranged for a traditional Gnawa welcome which everyone enjoyed!

Our cooking class today was terrific (and delicious): tchoutchouko (tomato and roasted green pepper salad), Moroccon salad with raisins, b'stya with squab and almonds, and milk pastilla for dessert.

We toured the souk and medina in Tangier with our favourite font of all knowledge, Morad today. There is nothing about Morocco, and Tangier in particular, that he doesnt know. Starting with the good coffee spot☕! The markets are a sight to behold: the sounds, the smells, the colours. Cooler than we were expecting but that's part of the fun!

Think of Italy and what do you think of? My brain is controlled by my stomach so I go pasta, cheese, gelato, limoncello, cured meats... did I mention pasta?
