Steam Trains Return To The Victorian Goldfield Railway
After almost 500 days in our workshop, our steam locomotive has now returned to service, looking and sounding as majestic as ever.

Many hundreds of hours of volunteer and staff time went in to overhauling her boiler, replacing some eighty-year-old parts and giving her a magnificent new paint-job. She’s looking a million dollars!

We’d love you to join us as we transport you from either Castlemaine or Maldon on a return trip through the beautiful ironbark forest, the lush farming countryside and through the historic Maldon and Castlemaine region. We run every Sunday and selected Saturdays. Seats are limited, so make sure you book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment Www.VGR.com.au

On Saturday 4 May, the Maldon Vintage Machinery and Museum hosts TEDxMaldon with a range of incredible speakers, some local and some from Melbourne, NSW and Tasmania: Brian Nankervis, Katie Underwood, Jane Caro, Christine Nixon, Brad Hooper, Rosalie Hastwell, Nerrida Johnson, Youth Victorian Governor, Kaitlin Woolford, and Isis Jordan.

The theme is The Brave and the Brilliant.

There are a few spots left on a fabulous experience this Good Friday, March 29 .

WINE & CHEESE SOIRÉE
Come ride the historic and glamorous first class carriages on our heritage train from Castlemaine to Maldon sampling excellent wines and cheeses along the way.
Upon arrival in Maldon you are conveyed to Maldon’s historic Porcupine Village for a sumptuous dinner provided at the Golden Nugget restaurant.
Then it’s back to our historic railway at Maldon for the return rail trip to Castlemaine.

Here at 48 Main we have been doing our best businessey type planning and trying to to work out exactly how much more fun can fit into the Maldon week - and it turns out from this WEDNESDAY we will be OPEN - which means there is exactly 25% more fun can fit and will be available for you! Now that sounds like a very big number but we have had our best juniors, seniors and bar staff on it and we assure you that’s correct!

The bar will open for the FIRST WED TIME on WEDNESDAY at 4PM. Now there are not many times you can really be first in your life - so don’t miss out! Rachel will be pouring our finest and coldest - it’s going to be hot out so come in for some respite and claim your Wednesday OG status!

As our name suggests we will still be at 48 Main Street, Maldon 3463 - see you soon you Wednesday wags!

These are my visual notes on life and nature. The animals that share our lives, fish, and the amazing variety of birds I see changing shifts throughout the day all inform my work. The big sky & unique landscape here also inspire & motivate me to create.
