Enjoying the simple things is one of life’s pleasures.
Like our 1971 vintage radiogram. There is nostalgia embedded in every vinyl.
Having time to enjoy the simple things is half the trouble though, hey? Balance we strive so hard for, and it often proves allusive. Obviously booking a stay here to enjoy a slower pace and really become grounded in the moment helps!
But seriously, what tips do you have for finding balance in your life? 🤍

This weekend I learnt first hand how important it is to have a good sleep while on holiday. Yep I learnt the hard away!
My husband and I went away for the weekend and I cannot tell you how hard the bed was! Painful. We came home so tired after 3 nights of little sleep.
So now I really do understand why our guests mention how comfortable the beds are in their reviews.
Because it truly makes a huge difference as to how you enjoy your stay, how your body rejuvenates and how refreshed you leave.
I am so glad our mattress testing paid off and we have lovely beds for our guests to enjoy, repair and rejuvenate 🤍

Unhurried afternoons, tell me you don’t like them!
Of course you do. Who doesn’t, right? If anything I think it is one of the most luxurious things to have time be completely irrelevant. Totally unhurried, free to do or not do whatever you feel like.

They say it’s all in the journey not the destination…
In a small way this is true of our wood fired cedar hot tub. True it’s not a fast ready to jump in kind of experience. But that’s exactly what it is; an experience!
It’s the whole thing, all the steps in between that make it a delightful time. From lighting the match and stoking the fire to the smell of the cedar wood and smoke ascend to the stars. The therapeutic stirring watching the steam begin to rise to dipping your toe in and immersing yourself beneath the stars or even the rain if your daring.
While it’s not the ready to go noisy jetted tub, it’s the slowness of the process that truly unwinds you from the day. Preparing your mind and body to relax and enjoy the stillness of life for a moment. To be able to fully appreciate being present.

Been out of touch the last few days, hubby been done with a cold and I have had bad allergies. The joys of the change in seasons. The up side of a few days off from regular work is I had time to paint and that has been fun.
But for now here are some beautiful shots from who we had the pleasure of hosting recently.
A wood fire is just one thing that makes this change in season so special and makes us love it despite the cold wildness that is outside.

We love sharing our little retro home with others both hear on Insta and with our beautiful guests who come and stay in person. We love you all and are so grateful for everyone’s support. We cannot wait to welcome you to our little home one day.
This little home is truly a passion of ours and the fact that so many want to come and experience it and follow our story hear on Insta is just incredible. 🤍
I don’t know if you have noticed this too. Let me know if you have. But I have realised that lately I have been missing some of my favourite and most inspiring account’s posts. What I have learned through this experience is that Instagram is always changing and honestly I find it hard to keep up and it makes it challenging to keep in touch with our loved communities.
So, I have started adding my favourite loved accounts to my “favourites” list. Seems obvious I know and I am probably late to the party on this. But if you find you are missing our posts in your regular feed or those of others you love than pop us on your favourites list. Then you won’t have to miss out like I have been.

I believe in the little things. The little memories are the dearest. The littler something is the cuter it is. You know what I mean, hey?
The same is true of the little touches that make an experience that little bit more special. Like our gorgeous guest soaps hand made by the beautiful Caylee from .native.products
Working with Caylee to create these custom unique soaps with our very own scent was an absolute dream and such a wonderful experience. They smell sooo delicious and reflect the vibe of our little home perfectly. The best thing is you can take it home to remember your stay.
Caylee is and always will be our soap lady, thank you Caylee 🤍

I keep dreaming of booking my hubby and I a holiday but that’s as far as I get. Sad I know, I really need to change that! Hopefully your better then I am!

Things I love about Autumn are the still days, the earthy tones, the longing for winter curries, the fact it’s still warm enough for afternoon cocktails, the lingering summer, the promise of winter nights by the fire, the making every moment of fine weather count.

I spent the afternoon doing something I love.
And no it wasn’t taking the longest bath ever. But you know that one thing that you do that is your escape from the mundane and you blissfully losing track of time without a care. Because in that moment nothing seems that important. That’s where I was this afternoon.
For you maybe it is a long bath, sometimes recently it’s been painting abstracts. But today it was immersing myself in the vegetable patch. It’s small but I love it! I am determined to grow all year this year. Usually I grow only during summer purely out of a lack of knowledge. But determine I am and absolutely inspired by a beautiful YouTuber who grows wonders in her garden and emits peace and appreciation.
So I pulled out my favourite gardening book, trotted down to the nursery for some seeds and away I went.
We shall see how it all grows but for now I had a wonderful afternoon in the last day of summers sun. Now I do need a bath or at least a shower. Just wish I had one outside like we do at 41Found. It’s the most beautiful thing to shower beneath the stars. 🤍

Really think about this statement, because it takes really thinking about to see it’s depth in reference to oneself. I can’t stop thinking about it personally.
I have just started this course, my second with Sarah. I am always surprised to learn how insightful these courses are. It is like being introduced to yourself for the first time.
How does this statement make you feel? Or perhaps your ahead of me and experienced this course too, what do you love about this process?

I witnessed the most simplest beauty today…
A dandelion. Carried in through the open doors on the day’s hot summer wind, tumbling across the table where I sat and catching the draft from which it came preceded to dance through the living room and down the passage. To find it’s lodging one can only assume.
Things, people, places at times seem to drift into your life as if on the wind; without you even knowing from where they came. Yet the joy that they bring into your life is nothing short of splendid in it’s simplest form.
As such may never know just how valuable they are 🤍

Memories are like keys to the heart. Memoirs are like giving that key to someone else.
Memories hold powers, mean different things, unlock different doors for each of us I think.
Perhaps for some, we have thrown the key away.
For those who dare to record their memoirs are I think brave beyond words. Having courage to expose there the very essence of self.
Fortunately most of us have those moments in life where we hold tightly to the keys of such memories that we could just live again and again.

Mindlessness… if that’s a word, is somehow magical
Recently I embarked on a venture of creativity. I have always desired to be a creative but never believed it was in me to do so. You know what mean, artists are just naturally talented and down right amazing!
Yet, again and again I try, tempting my abilities. Generally it ends in disappointment as my husband can attest to.
This time was different. A kind and extremely talented friend offered to give me a little guidance.
You see I have high ambitions. No no I don’t want to be a top selling artist, not that high! But it is my aim to create a piece to adorn our bare wall in the living room.
A very large piece actually, which I am still deciding if that was brave or stupid. The only problem is that it will be on display for all to see! Can you see my problem? There is no where to hide, it will be a representation of myself, exposed.
For someone like myself this is a bit scary, I like to stick to the corners and hide in the crowd. But this takes courage. Needless to say I have done a number of practices, mostly in an attempt to put off the real thing
Today I started… 🤍
What I have learnt is that having a create outlet is powerful, it has the ability to transport me to somewhere weightless. A mental destination without burden. An emptying of my mind which I am dubbing “mindlessness”. Makes sense right?
The key is to find what that is for you. I have searched for years to find something. Thanks to my dear friend who is showing me how to unlock what is already inside me, I am loving this journey. We will see long I stick at it after I complete my conquest, I don’t have a good track record at sticking to things. Hubby will attest to that too. Haha.

A sense of belong is what we all want.
It’s a funny thing you know. You can be in the most crowded place and feel all alone and yet the at times the most seemingly isolated untouched places are those you feel most connected to.
But this all hinges on what you desire to be connected to. For some it’s being present in the moment, whatever that may be. Others the sensory environment surrounding them that envelopes the senses. Still others it’s the people and community that grounds them.
For me I float in and out of them all in various quantities. While I cannot survive without the communities that provide me the love and support that we all need, it’s really in the conscienceness (is that not a word?) of the senses in the present that grounds me most.
Let me explain:
In this very moment I can breathe the depths of my lungs filling my very being with the sweet delicate salt that’s carried to me from the near by ocean, it’s wildest freest notion. The coolness of the evening air gently kisses my skin as the sun sets behind the horizon. I hear the sounds of birds hurrying to their rest, and crickets sharing an even melody. My feet planted in the rawness of timber beneath. And of course the palate dances with the note of a summer Chardonnay.

| I did not want to clean the other day, it was so cosy, the fire roaring and the record player turning out the tunes. (I always clean with a vinyl on the go of course) Heck the vibes were so good!
