We worked with this lovely couple in getting their 820 Visa granted. Since the grant of the first stage visa, they have settled in their lovely home and renovated it, purchased a camper trailer, continued their coffee van business, and even welcomed a puppy to the family. Skills assessment applications under this occupation have additional requirements compared to other general professional occupations assessed by VETASSESS. Firstly, we worked closely with the client to ensure their studies were assessed as highly relevant to the occupation. Temporary Activity (COVID 408) Visa Granted.

After the shock announcement that the 408 Visa was being wound down, we only had one day to work with this client to get their application in! (From the 2nd of September only previous 408 Visa holders could apply). Luckily the applicant became eligible for the Visa on the last day they could lodge and we were able submit. The applicant now has a bit of time to breathe in Australia, obtain skilled employment and continue on their pathway to Permanent Residence (which we already have planned out).

Onshore Partner (Subclass 820) Grant.

We had been helping these clients with their Partner Visa pathway since the onset of COVID-19. The applicant and sponsor had spent some time together in Australia but had lots of informal evidence. They were separated during the COVID-19 travel bans and we were eventually able to help reunite them after a successful exemption application (after initial rejections). After this we applied for an Onshore Partner Visa on their behalf and this has now been granted.

A lot has happened since we started this journey together – they were engaged, got married and have even had a baby in Australia!

Onshore Partner (Subclass 820) Grant.

Great outcome for a client with unconventional relationship evidence, character disclosures and health disclosures. The applicant met their partner online and became serious a few months after. They lived together informally in shared accommodation (with no joint lease) and with family. We were able to work carefully with the couple to obtain what circumstantial evidence we could regarding this informal co-habitation. We also worked carefully on both the Visa & Sponsor application to disclose health and character information in a way that did not trigger referrals to specialist consideration units (and result in long, long delays).

The applicant and sponsor are now happily living together under a joint lease with their cat and have started a business together. We are fortunate to have assisted them with their application and watch them build their lives together in Australia. We look forward to assisting them in the future with Permanent Residency and beyond!
