Sailing #Ho'onalu_Voyaging on - Wild Thing - across Fiji's beautiful islands
Another 140 nautical miles sailed from the very cultural town of Savusavu to the Australian side of Fiji and the beautiful island of Musket Cove. Aboard American sailing vessel #wildthing we had the definition of an amazing sail with dolphins swimming beside and a boobie bird hitching a ride it was incredible sailing through the islands of Fiji gaining a wealth of knowledge along the way.
With Californian transplant couple Brian and Kerstin April these two soon to be three are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and fun loving owners of the beautiful 46ft catamaran #wildthing are on an epic adventure themselves and showed there experience navigating through the Fijian reefs and islands through the night arriving here in Musket cove around 2 in the morning, check them out on FB Ho’onalu Voyaging due to give birth to there first born this year they plan on sailing around Musket Cove and the surrounding islands by definition living the dream.
Topped off with an dynamic crew first mate Landon, Also a Californian Transplant and musician had us laughing and dancing to tunes along the way and getting up close an personal with old mate the boobie bird watch this space as he prepares tm start his own YouTube channel. The bubbly and fun loving Kiwi #sailboathitchhiker Melissa Troup provided many laughs along the passage, Given a challenge of the rubrics cube to be completed before we arrived she passed easily with flying colors.
Sailing with these guys was a great way to add to an already epic adventure on the #Covidcoasttocoast and plenty still to come. these guys are #lockdowntravellers and absolute legends.
We helped our Yankee comrades celebrate there 4th of July independence day in the beautiful island of Musket cove, with the sun shinning and the awesome cloud break within eye sight, beautiful white sandy beaches. Bora Bora to Fiji crossing made it safe
The Covid Coast to Coast brings us closer to home, the silver linning is the beautiful islands of Fiji, docked safely in Savusavu so far 58 days at sea crossing the largest ocean in the world with no experiance just to get home. Still a couple weeks of sailing to get home to Brisbane🤙
