The largest whale migration in the southern hemisphere takes place along Western Australia’s coast each year.
In April they leave their feeding grounds in Antarctica on an epic migration to North Western Australia’s warm waters to have their young before returning from September to December.
As they are often accompanied by their calves on the southern migration, they tend to stay much closer to shore than they do when heading north, making it the best time of year for whale watching from Mandurah.
