Our hard working crew on dry dock this week for Mirimar II yearly maintenance.. Alex- deckie, Dennis -skipper, Hayden - deckie and Mark -owner in front. These guys have spent the last 4 days scrubbing, grinding and painting giving her a face lift. 😁 She will be back at the Cultural Centre Pontoon later this morning, ready to cruise to Lone Pine Sanctuary tomorrow Saturday the 1st June.

We are closed from Monday 27th May till Friday 31st May for our yearly maintenance, with the boat out of the water. We will be back on Saturday 1st June and running as per normal. I am sure we will share some photos of Mirimar II on dry dock.

Once again it is ATE (Australian Tourism Exchange) with it being held in Melbourne this year. As usual, it's Mark and Debbie meeting and greeting all the agents while showcasing Mirimar Cruises.

BANANA BREAD🍌🍌...is one of the most popular morning teas we have on the boat. It is well known all over the world and I guess that is why we make about 5 of these loaves a week.🍌 And because it tastes good 🍌🍞 yum

Yes, we are open all Easter weekend, and still have availability for Easter Monday the 1st April. However we are fully booked on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. (unless someone cancels which opens up the calendar again).

Say "Hi" to Molly, she has been working with us for the past 7 months. You will find her mostly in the kitchen, making your toasted sandwiches and bacon and egg Muffins. Molly works every second weekend, and another two days during the week. Thank you Molly for being part of our team.

Then 2022 and now 2024
Then**** this week marks 2 years ago since the floods were upon us. The flooded water had started to rise and ended up engulfing the gangway.
Both Cultural Centre Pontoon and Lone Pine Sanctuary Jetty were both damaged badly and Mirimar II could not run for 6 months, while the jetties were repaired.
Now**** Mirimar II, sitting pretty in the water a couple of years later. Who would have known there was a flood.

Last night was the Batty Valentine Cruise. Craft for the kids, a 7 week week old baby bat and lots of bats flying above. A fundraiser for saving the bats and of course we gave out chocolates for Valentine's.😍

Time to meet another of our crew members.
Alex has been with us 7 months and is our weekend deck hand. You will see him every Saturday, Sunday and Monday, giving out the Lone Pine Sanctuary map when you board and ensuring the gangway and ropes are study. You will also see him in the kitchen when needed. Say hello, if you see him next time you are onboard.

Back in July 2021 we added a story about our former work colleague, Tom, who was rowing his handmade boat from Chile to Australia .
Then again in December 2021, we captured this photo of Tom in training for his trip.
While Tom is okay (thankfully), his boat capsized at about 5pm on Thursday night. He activated his distress beacon and was rescued the next morning around 7am by P&O's Pacific Explorer. The Pacific Explorer had made a 200-kilometre detour on its planned course, to pick him up.
Tom was so close. He was on the last leg of your journey and was 185km from Vanuatu when rescued.
I am sure he is devastated ... but as always, the photos of Tom are all smiles and thanking his rescuers. We are certainly proud of Tom and all he achieved.

September School holidays have arrived and the weather is just perfect. So why not take the kids on our cruise to Lone Pine Sanctuary, for a great day out.
We are running every day, and have our kids bags with a koala mask for colouring, koala tattoos, a small chocolate and more pages of colouring in to keep them occupied on the way back to the city. We depart at 9am.
