There is an old saying , there is always 3 side to the story , their side , our side and the truth ........since been on Sydney Harbour since 2006, we have worked very hard to provide a reputable business and feel that 13 years later we have many many people who will “ vouch for us “
and agree . One of our most popular shows are our Abba Tribute Show who perform an average of 80 shows a year and have been doing that for 8 years ( we must be doing something right )......Now ,the “ drama “ ........... on Friday 24th May we had a Abba cruise booked with about 80 passengers. At about 2pm I received a phone call informing me that we had a MAJOR issue with our boat and it was not operational. ( I had butterflies in my belly after getting this news ) i then spoke to Elsa and we had some decisions to make . Do we cancel the cruise or do we hire another boat and relocate our passengers. I rang up some of my “ competitors “ and they couldn’t help me because that date was the first night of Vivid and no boats were available . I had almost given up and had come to terms that our only option was to cancel that cruise . Then , the phone rang and the owner of FUSION CRUISES ( his boat is a big catamaran and they cater for the Asian Market ) He advised me that he had a cruise that finished at 6pm , so if I wanted to hire his boat I could have it from 7pm ...... I was very grateful and relieved, however this still created a “ few problems “ that I had to address ( only 4 hours now before the cruise ) . Firstly , the replacement boat couldn’t provide the catering at such short notice and the other issue was their boat was not “ geared “ up for the live Abba band ( our boat has all the sound and lighting on board ) ....Great ( I think ) at least I’ve got a good boat so at least we can provide a cruise . So I make a decision to get Glenn to go get his Sound System ( play plenty of Abba , I said ) and order a “ s**t “load of Pizzas and give the 80 people a good night watching the Vivid lights and most importantly NOT taking the easy way out and cancel the cruise .......between Elsa and me we rang every organiser and told them that there would be NO Abba and the food would be Pizza . We also made it clear that this was a complimentary cruise and their group would come on a future Abba cruise. ..... Out of the 80 a few declined coming on the night and without hesitation, we gave them a refund .All of the group organisers knew of the circumstances and made the decision to attend ..... Glenn met everyone at the wharf and then cruised for about 45 minutes and then pulled into a wharf to pick up 35 pizzas( 280 pieces )normally more then enough. However , Ryan ( who helped Glen) didn’t co-ordinate the distribution very well and everyone just grabbed full pizza boxes ( rather then setting it up and handing out pieces ) This caused a bit of “ agro “. To Glens credit, he organised another delivery of 15 pizzas ( 50 for 70 people ! ) ........ Look, I do “ get it “ .it was not what everyone paid for , I did what I did to TRY to do the right thing rather then to cancel the whole thing !!and then get everyone to join us ( at no charge) at a later date on our boat....... However, I didn’t expect the next stage .......... Poor Elsa copped a barrage of abuse the next day ( not from the organisers but their friends ) She tried to explain the circumstances but didn’t have much success ( All of the abuse came from one particular group) Most of the other passengers that night recognised that we made the effort to do the right thing and they appreciate that and they have been given alternative options to join us on a future Abba cruise .......After Elsa coped these aggressive phone calls , she received several emails ( all from different members of one group) which she informed them she would only deal with the organiser. Then the negative TripAdvisor “ reviews “ started and now the “ reviews “ on our page , all trying to discredit our business . I just hope fair minded people who read those reviews take the time to read this one and ask , what did we do wrong ?? Our boat broke down a few hours before a scheduled cruise and we did everything to provide an alternative and get “ hammered “ for doing that .! We told every organiser that we will get everyone on our boat at another time and give them their Abba cruise, but the NEXT DAY , coping so much abuse? ....To make these last 2 weeks more unpleasant for us , our boat was out of action for 10 days after the Abba Cruise and we had to “ relocate 600 passengers for the peak Vivid event . Everyone who knows Elsa , knows she is the sweetest most wonderful person to deal with and the pressure she has had , ringing everyone who booked on Vivid to relocate has been a “ nightmare “ , but most of our Vivid passengers have been with us before and have been very supportive and in some cases sympathetic with our “no boat dilemma, and we really appreciate your understanding and support. We will always attempt to do the right thing and disregard the few opportunistic people who don’t understand the situation.
