Les Galeries Lafayette enter Chapter 11…
Triste, sad…
Guy Savoy has been my favourite Chef for almost 40 years, and - étoilés ou pas - I still consider it as the place restaurant in the World
Vingt ans après le su***de du grand chef Bernard Loiseau, la cuisine française reste sous la pression malsaine de l’industrie du marketing et de la communication, alor...
Probably one of the most underrated French restaurants finally gets the highest mark!👏👏👏
Satay salmon on basmati rice for dinner 👍
South Indian pumpkin soup from Yalla Foods for lunch
Tomate de Marmande, smoked chicken breast, and balsamic vinaigrette
Trying Entrecôte à la maison
Beautiful scotch fillet from Southern Grain, pommes rissolées façon Thousands Pound in Rutherglen with Entrecôte secret sauce 👌👌👌
Côtes du Rhône from Chapoutier and Camembert from Le Petit Louvre Sydney
My dear friends, my Instagram account has been hacked…

4 shades of Eggs Benedict in Melbourne and Rutherglen 😜
As much as I like travelling and discovering new places, I am always happy to come home and cook my own food…
Stopover in Rutherglen on my way back to Sydney…
Best dinner chez part of one of the top wineries in the region.
I tasted their Pinot Noir and I was suitably impressed!
The scotch fillet and pommes rissolées was cooked to perfection with a beautiful jus and the potatoes seemed to have been prepared on demand 👌👌👌
Flourless Orange cake for dessert was scrumptious too 👍👍👍
Quick and late lunch in Fitzroy
Barramundi just grilled to perfection by the Japanese owner of The Seafood Shak, then great corner quickly coffee shop👌👌👌
In between meetings…
Quick visit to this famous market, also home of to buy my ration of fancy peppers for my special mix… 👍👍👍
Last dinner in Melbourne for this trip, and what a better place than to celebrate a great business trip!
Beautiful sourdough bread and butter, roast of lamb on mash, rocket and Parmesan salad, mousse au chocolat, 🇦🇺 Pinot noir aka house wine 😜
Splendid fitout, attentive service, and these sauces 👌👌👌
Sauces and vinaigrettes are the measure of a great restaurant, and both were perfect here!
2 courses for 79$ is a very reasonable price to pay for such an amazing dinner…
And I got a taxi back almost right away, so home early as tomorrow is going to be another big day! Stay tuned…
Quirky little shops, , Gertrude Street in Fitzroy is the place to be, and has been for quite some time
Light lunch, no carbs 😜, oysters from Merimbula, grilled prawns with a curry sauces and leaves, Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley and all reasonably priced 👍👍👍
You know you are in a 🇫🇷 restaurant when baguette and butter are coming to your table without asking or being charged for it…
I have been dining on and off at for the best part of a quarter of a century and it always hits the mark…
The impressive wine list and the nice touch of a “petite liste” where one can find a beautiful glass of Haut-Médoc at a reasonable price, the waiters all French and doing a great impersonation of a Parisian Brasserie, the decadent desserts from the 70s like that “Ile Flottante” I couldn’t resist and it’s oh so soft meringue make it a destination into itself…
Having said that, on this particular occasion, it was a little disappointing…
Nobody had a record of my reservation to start with, but I got an interestingly placed table with a great view of the action, but more to the point, the potato cubes under the duck were not cooked through and reheated, which is a no no in my book, even if I can appreciate the difficulty to make them to order…
Will I return? Yes for sure, because it is an institution in Melbourne and the vibe is great, a bonus when one dines of one’s own…
When a demo of our speakers turns into lunch with their future owner of fame…
Merci Jason pour votre hospitalité et votre business 🙏🙏🙏
Interesting take on my favourite breakfast…
Bread replaced by a square piece of delicious hash browns, wilted spinach, and obviously Hollandaise…
Not as good as yesterday, but very decent in any case…
Great coffee too btw👌
🙏
Beautiful night in Melbourne after the concert…
Grilled salmon with asparagus and a cold potato salad - a little overcooked for my liking, but still ok - sticky date pudding with all the trimmings, certainly up there in the hierarchy of desserts, and Sémillon Sauvignon Blanc which was exceptional 👍👍👍
The evening was a bit ruined by having to wait 45 minutes for a taxi home, but the spectacle of the full moon made up for it…
It’s not all about food and wine…😉
Some of you know that my real passion is music and music reproduction…
My first time at Hamer Hall, the home of the and my first time listening to Beethoven 5th live as well!
Amazing performance, energetic, imperial, triumphant, champêtre at time
Light lunch of grilled blue grenadier in a Greek salad 👍👍👍
I would argue this is one of the best eggs Benedict I know off anywhere and certainly Ze best hollandaise 👌👌👌
is also conveniently located a block and a half away from each of the serviced apartments I used in South Yarra…
Safely in Melbourne and ready for a proper dinner…
If I had read the menu properly, i wouldn’t have ordered les frites 😜🤷♂️…
Anyway, the steak was cooked to my liking, the fancy crème brûlée was good and the 🇫🇷 Pinot Noir was a great match 👍
I haven’t dined there since 2019 and it’s still a funky place with good food, albeit a tad on the expensive side of things…

I risked my life to show you what a country town life is on a Sunday afternoon 😜
Lunch at the local pub, aptly named the Riverina Hotel, reminds me of country pubs in Scotland or one of the very few meals I had with my mother in law.
Being quite excited to have Yorkshire Pudding, i asked for the recipe…
And she replied: i bought a packet love 🤣🤣🤣🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Biggest gastronomic disappointment of my epicurean life…
In search of a decent cup of coffee, i did find a little gem chez 👌👌👌

In France the label “Fromage Fermier” is not given lightly… At the minimum, the milk used to make cheese has to come from cows raised on the property where the fromage is produced… Chez @fermedelatremblaye they go one step further by growing their own feed for the cows, mainly Jersey breed, ensuring they get the highest organic certification for their products… Anecdotally, I used to buy their milk and hand made butter when living in Thoiry in a previous life… They have been at it since 1967! You can find their Camembert and Brie chez @lepetitlouvresydney #notsponsored just a great story! 🎥 @fermedelatremblaye 🙏
