Tims is racing as the group of artists prepare to attend Antoniette Blyth in the Tuscan Hill and Emiglia Romagna . I will be the teacher as we fly from Melbourne to Bolognia for 15 days of painting and discovering the beautiful region again. It has been 3 long years due to covid but now i am returning..

Cathy Van Ee joined Janette plein air at San Remo with others who enjoyed the weekend outing. In September she will have a full group going to Venice and the Bay of Poets . In April there will be the opportunity for the ones who live in Victoria to join her for a luncheon at the Upper Ferntree Gully Hotel. Janette and Cathy will bring and show some ideas on how to prepare for our art materials after lunch.

How exciting to bring two full groups to emiglia Romagna and the Tuscan hills with Antoniette for watercolours. She will be hosting the people who live near her , to a get together and she will be demonstrating in her lovely garden. Janette will bring her plein air gear and with Antoniette will provide a light luncheon for everyone to share.

After three years , paesano is travelling in Sept to the emiglia romagna and the tuscan hills.. Then another group will arrive in Venice for 7 days to continue onto the bay of poets for another 7 days. Two full groups.
Looking forward to seof and october , full of fun, painting and good company.

It was thundering this morning so we changed the itinerary to paint out side of our accommodation and when the clouds passed we went to the ghetto area of Venice. Tomorrow we will ferry to the islands.

Farewell to a great group who enjoyed the Appennine mountains of Italy.

What a wonderful fun group they were. We wish them inspiration on their future paintings and remember this trip with fondness.

Prior to leaving the mountains, we visited a scarf shop where we each tried one on (including Silvio).

Sue Hibbert was fantastic with her painting workshop and we are grateful for her patience, friendliness and expertise.

We are now in beautiful Venice and the weather is glorious. The next painting workshop with Craig Penny starts tomorrow in Venice before moving onto Bay of Poets/Cinque Terre.

Another beautiful day in Fuimalbo, Italy. Fuimalbo is on the border of the Tuscan Hills and Emilia-Romagna. Some amazing painting has been done under the guidance of Sue Hibbert.

Off to Lucca to explore this ancient city. It is just so beautiful that a day is not long enough. I love the art shop in Lucca. Great watercolour paper there.

We had a great greeting in the township of Cultigano (from all types of people/animals!)) before we settled into paint the town. You never know who you will meet in italy 😊

We love impromptu moments! While painting in Groppo, we met a local who invited us into their ancestry home to show us the relics. So beautiful and generous.

When one road closes, another more beautiful road opens... Italy in the Appenines always delights. Could not go to Pavullo because the road tunnel was being repaired so we went to Pievepelago village and discovered a beautiful quiet old road. Then we moved to Groppo for further painting with views of the 13th century tower.

We had a most beautiful day painting on the hill slopes of Palagano. Beautiful weather and such blue skies.

SEPT 2020 planned for Venice annd thee Bay of Poets with Cathy Van Ee who will demo in Pastel but is an excellent oil painter. I will be thinking about following on with Sicily.

Met with Sue Hibberts for her meet and greet with the artists coming on the Tuscan Hills painting workshop in Sept 2019. The ones from USA, Queensland and Victoria were not able to come because it was too far. We will meet in Bologna italy.
