Roma 🇮🇹 The younger sister of Hotel de Russie - of , Hotel de la Ville, was born atop the Spanish Steps. Previously home to an old-school hotel, the 18th-century palazzo first underwent two-and-a-half years of renovations, reducing the number of rooms to a more manageable 89. Larger rooms have enormous terraces but nothing can rival the heady 360-degree views of honey-hued cupolas from the rooftop. Meanwhile, herbal cocktails are served against a backdrop of tapestries in the bar. It’s the understated things that make this a property for its home city it democratically embraces street life through a dining room and bar which can be accessed directly from via Sistina. An espresso here costs one euro. De la Ville’s recalling of a centuries-old jet set is drawing in a new crowd, while blurring the lines between hotel and city life.

Travellers arriving in Australia will no longer need to complete a digital passenger declaration under changes to come into effect this week.

Border restrictions enforced in response to the pandemic will be dropped this coming week, with arriving passengers no longer required to declare their vaccination status or obtain a travel exemption.

The much-maligned Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) required people entering Australia to provide their contact details as well as declare their vaccination status, where they had been in the past 14 days, and commit to following quarantine and testing requirements.

The good news is that having to complete a DPD will end on Wednesday 6 July.

Blink and you might miss the entrance at the new , it’s a brand new build in inner city Melbourne. Very in a good way, the hotel is casual and unassuming a perfect pad for a city stay for a couple of nights with views over Melbourne. Number 25 seems to be a thing, the property is at 25 Downie Street, the 25m lap pool is stunning & tranquil and on the 25th floor restaurant TOMA offers breakie and dinner, a bar and some great views over the city. Definitely one ☝️ to put on your list to stay or have your next conference at! Contact me if you are looking at staying in Melbourne soon.
