As of tomorrow (30th November) it becomes law that any drone weighing more than 250g up to 20kg must be registered and anyone who uses a drone must also register as a pilot.

If you own a drone you must register with the CAA & get an ‘Operator ID’, which must be displayed on your drone. This costs £9 (irrespective of how many drones you register). You must also be over 18 to do this.

If you fly a drone (even if using or borrowing a friend’s) you must register as a pilot & get a ‘Flyer ID’.

With over 300 gyrocopters flying around Australia, it's an important safety consideration for all drone operators, who must give way to all manned aircraft regardless of the circumstances.
