: Premier Mark McGowan has unveiled Western Australia's long-awaited border reopening roadmap.

Restrictions are set to EASE from 12.01am on Saturday, February 5 - when vaccination rates are expected to reach 90 per cent.

International arrivals will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before entering the state, and those who are fully vaccinated will not need to isolate.

Our strong border protections have saved thousands of lives over the course of the COVID-19 global pandemic, but they have also come at a significant cost.

Today I announced an important change to the rules around who can return to Australia. We will be expanding the definition of ‘immediate family’ to include the parents of Australian residents and citizens, so more families can be reunited as we make our way out of the pandemic and reclaim our lives.

From November 1, vaccinated Australians and their families will also be able to return without the need for quarantine into NSW. They must be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine approved or recognised by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

Unvaccinated arrivals and those arriving into other states and territories will still need to undertake quarantine under state laws.

This is an important step forward in the National Plan, and with continued strong uptake of vaccines I look forward to other states following soon. Thank you to all those who have already rolled up their sleeve to get the jab. Every vaccination is a step towards reopening safely, and staying safely open.

Do I still need to undertake quarantine in 🇦🇺 if I’ve received a COVID -19 vaccine overseas?

At this time, receiving a vaccination against COVID-19 does not change the requirement for you to undertake 14 days mandatory quarantine on arrival to Australia following overseas travel.
