On the southern boundary of the 76,003 hectare Yarra Ranges National Park. Plentiful wild native animals to take photographs of such as : Wallabies, Wombats, Koalas, Echidnas, Possums, Lyrebirds, King Parrots, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, Rosellas, Blue Wrens, Flame Robins, Blue Tongue Lizards just to name a few. Plenty of mountain bike trails nearby to ride on. Minelab metal detector available on request for anyone interested in looking for buried treasure. A night vision motion sensing camera and recorder is also available to monitor the native animals stalking the campsite in complete darkness. All camping equipment supplied, tent already set up. Telescope, binoculars and fishing equipment is included for use on request. Four sleeping bags supplied. Only food needs to be purchased for your stay. Cost is only $190 for up to 4 people for a 23 hour stay. Firewood and charcol is supplied. BBQ and bush kitchen at campsite. No other campers. Secure car parking. No Pets and No Fi****ms. For people with a camper trailer and 4WD the camping fee is only $100 per night with numerous safe from falling trees camp sites with private creeks and spring water. The summit of Mt. Donna Buang is a 30 minute drive away or a strenuous 3 hour walk. The camp is situated only 1 and a quarter hours drive from the centre of Melbourne via the Maroondah and Warburton highways. Warburton and its many restaurants is only a 5 minute drive away. Marysville and Lake Mountain are only and hours drive away via the forest fringed Reefton Spur road or the Acheron Way. Healesville and its famous Sanctuary is only a half hour drive away. Many local history books available to consult such as various editions of the 100 plus year old Companion Guide to Healesville, Blacks' Spur, Narbethong and Marysville to look at as well a many different maps to plan an adventure into the mountains. Numerous Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works and Melbourne Water reports and maps available for inspection to learn about the nearby water catchments that have been closed to the general public for over 100 years.
