Night falls on Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina ✨🌙 Located on the Neretva river, Mostar is a charming town famed for its Ottoman era bridge called Stari Most. Wander its cobbled laneways then settle down at a riverside cafe for delicious local fare, such as cevapi, dolma (vegetables stuffed with rice and spices) and ajvar (a spicy capsicum and eggplant spread). Visit during the summer months and you can watch daring divers leap from the bridge into the river below (which, by the way, is always very cold).

Each December the city comes to life as wooden chalets and twinkling lights line the streets. The market takes its name from striezel, a fruit cake traditionally eaten at Christmas, dating back to medieval times. Streizelmarkt remains one of Europe's most traditional markets, with locals selling carved wooden handicrafts and regional delicacies.

In our opinion, Dresden is one of Europe's most underrated cities. It's hard to believe that Dresden was almost completely flattened by heavy bombing in World War 2. In the decades that followed, the city was magnificently rebuilt and is now a hub for culture, history and architecture. Come in December, rug up in a nice warm coat, and hop from one grand coffee house to another while sampling the region's famous cheesecake 😋
