The best moments are shared ❤️ Flinders Island is full of surprises. Stackey’s Bright is an iconic rock arch where the contrasting colours of the azure blue waters and the orange lichen meet together in one of our favourite walking places on this 4 day fully supported hike.

In April 2024, we collaborated with Reconciliation Australia to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan. Our vision for reconciliation is to foster cultural safety within our communities, organisation, and across the lands we are privileged to share.

Over the next six months, we will incorporate Aboriginal place names alongside colonial names for towns, cities, and sites featured in our Australian itineraries. This initiative supports the preservation of Aboriginal languages and strengthens the connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with their culture and identity.
This is just one way we are putting our commitment to reconciliation in Australia into practice.

Originally an escape route for shipwrecked sailors, Tasmania's iconic South Coast Track now serves as an escape route from the pace of modern life. Wild unspoilt landscapes, remote untouched beaches, rugged mountain ranges, pristine rivers, towering rainforests - this is untamed wilderness at its very best.

From Maddy "On top of the ironbounds on Tasmania's South Coast Track, the entire valley below was encased with fog". The South Coast Track is challenging but oh so rewarding with its spectacular scenery. There's mud, amazing vistas, epic climb up the Ironbounds range, rainforests, isolated beaches and absolute remoteness.

Walking the Overland Track during winter is a very different experience to summer and offers a more serene and tranquil environment. The trail is much quieter, the lakes are frozen and the snow ensures the surrounding landscapes provide unique photographic opportunities. The e high peaks along the Overland Track usually receive a generous dusting of snow, turning the Cradle Mountain National Park into a winter wonderland.

Jump on the 22nd June Departure - it needs just one more person to be guaranteed!

What does responsible travel mean to you? Our vision is to leave the world a better place, environmentally and socially. You can learn more about our travel charter and Regenerative 2030 programs on our website but in Australia we pledge $5 for every traveller to help fund Indigenous literacy projects. We use the funds raised to provide school children in remote Indigenous Communities with culturally relevant literacy resources. Across the globe we fund projects to ensure the resources we enjoy today will be available for the generations that follow.

Our Story

Tasmanian Expeditions is a ground operator of small group active wilderness holidays to many World Heritage listed areas in Tasmania. While we are a specialist in trekking, we also offer cycling, kayaking, rafting, and other adventure experiences. Our walks range from introductory walks to challenging full pack trips for seasoned bushwalkers. All guided tours include a minimum of two experienced wilderness guides, privately and professionally maintained support vehicles, meals, emergency communication equipment, high quality outdoor gear, local logistical and operational support. Our leaders and guides interpret, encourage and promote an understanding of local conservation and ensure our presence has minimal effect on historic, Aboriginal and archaeological locations.
