A comfortable 4hr 50min TGV from Lyon to Nice in first class with good leg room, wifi, and charging points. During busy times make sure you board the train early to ensure you secure baggage space near your seat. Honestly it's every man, woman, child for themselves.The upper deck seats can be a struggle to carry the bags up the steep steps. We've had 2 full days in this gorgeous city and wish we had more, but yes I will be back in 2025 on the Uniworld River Cruise and I can't wait. I had a quick look at the magnificent Grand Hotel Dieu which incorporates The Intercontinental Hotel. This is a destination on it's own with it's numerous restaurants and bars all open for the public to enjoy the historical building and the quiet sanctuary inside the walls. Here you will also find the Cite International of Gastronomie de Lyon. An interactive museum to indulge all 5 senses. Allow at least 2 hours a must during a visit to Lyon.
