Happy Halloween!

Unfortunately, it was a quiet night for our guests at the Adelaide Gaol. We did have a few pieces of equipment light up though. That is how the paranormal can be at times. Please don't be put off by this as investigating is a bit like fishing, some-times you catch something and other times you don't.

There wasn't much to report on the tour tonight, although we did have some guests report having their hands touched in lockdown.

Investigation
Visitor Centre - the flux went green, indicating a 'yes'.
Laundry - it was a bit more active in this building. We had the flux go green, the rempod light up, along with the EDI. We also had an interesting Estes experiment.
New Building - the flux went off once more and the rempod blipped. We also heard some unusual metallic noise which we couldn't work out what it was.

Sadly the Gaol was very quiet for our guests tonight.

My backup guide and I had an interesting experience, however: while Karen and I were unlocking in the New Building before the tour, Karen spotted movement on the top gangway in C Wing. She said it was like a head bobbing along for a moment. During lockdown, both of us were stood in A Wing with all of the guests in cells. We both heard footfalls above us on the gangway - we looked at each other and both pointed up at the same time. Was Sir paying us a visit?

A quiet tour this evening, no paranormal activity to mention.

6hr Investigation
We had a few very quiet areas in the gaol tonight that included remand and yard 4, but thankfully it was not quiet everywhere.

We decided to investigate the Sally Port after previous reports of a friendly visitor in this area earlier in the week. Almost immediately we had some equipment activating, including a cat ball on the bourbon and EDI readings in the doorway. Footsteps were heard near front door and the music box quickly played outside the visitors area. This was backed up with shuffling movements that could also be heard around visitors centre.

In the medical centre we had a KII light up to red many times and the one 5 cm away from it was not going off, which we found interesting. Several times movement was heard from above in the dormitory area. A few guests reported seeing a shadow moving back and forth in one of the rooms. The Flux and the Rempod in the doorway activated a few times and movement could still be heard outside in the visitors area. Using Ghosttube Vox we appeared to get some direct responses to our questions and even helped us choose what area to visit next.

The Laundry started with the music box that played on and off the whole time we were in there. Several different cat balls flashed and we had a few EDI readings. Myself and a guest even saw a shadow pass in between 2 other guests. We did a double Estes experiment with the two guests placed at opposite ends of the laundry. Both heard growls and both said " they are coming” within seconds of each other. Adam was watching and could hear, one of the guests with the headphones on move around in the dark, only to be surprised when I showed him through the IR that he was in fact sitting on the floor and not moving at all. The other person on the headphones came back to the group shivering with cold even though the temperature on the EDI had not changed. Sandra felt something touch her hand under the table while we were talking and packing up.

The Kitchen had taps and other unusual noises heard in back corner and cat ball on the to***co flashed a few times. The names Christine and Allan came out of the portal and another elderly gentleman, who all seemed to be clamouring to talk to us, with their voices talking over the top of each other.

The new building was fairly quiet but during lock down footsteps were heard by a couple, similar to pacing and another guest felt she was touched in her cell.

Overall it was a great night with a great group of investigators. It was fantastic to have some Haunted Horizon regulars and some new faces mixed in. I hope to see you all again soon.

A wet evening for our tour tonight. The Gaol felt calm and welcoming, and there wasn’t much activity.

During lockdown, guests in one cell felt a presence in a corner and a guest in one of the fridge cells thought their leg was touched!

Investigation
In the new building, below the gallows, we had devices going off all over as we were setting up! The parascope indicated someone was walking into and out of one of the fridge cells, and we had cat balls activating too. Particularly interesting were phrases and words coming out of GhostTube, which were well-timed and relevant.

It petered out a little after this, so we moved to the laundry. Sadly no one much wanted to interact with the devices, but an Estes produced some relevant information and the EDI flashed at the same time. We tried the activity room to finish off, with no results at all.

A very quiet tour tonight. Thank you all for coming along - I hope you enjoyed the stories.

Investigation
Just prior to leaving, my back up guide for the night, Karen, had an experience in the Sally Port: she was packing up some equipment and heard two definite footsteps on the wooden floor behind her. There was no one nearby: all guests were accounted for and I was over by another building! We hoped that this would signal an active investigation.

We had the parascope going off in Remand, along with a cat ball, while we were setting up. Devices quieted down after this but we had some interesting responses on the ghost box.

In the hanging tower, an Estes produced some potential answers to our questions with EDI flashes throughout. The Ovilus also produced words that were relevant to our location.

We finished in the laundry, again with the parascope and a cat ball, and some more responses from the portal.
