Ready to learn about the coolest canines in Australia? Here’s 5 fun facts about K’gari’s (Fraser Island) cutest locals. 🐕

1. These wild dogs are one of the purest populations of dingos in Australia, having been isolated on the island for over 6,000 years.
2. Fraser Island dingoes are some of the largest in the world, with males weighing up to 20kg and standing up to 60cm tall at the shoulder.
3. These wild dogs are protected by law, and it's illegal to feed or approach them within 50 meters. They can be dangerous if provoked, so it's important to give them their space.
4. Dingoes on Fraser Island have unique vocalisations, with their howls being described as haunting and almost musical.
5. Dingoes on Fraser Island are excellent swimmers and can often be seen taking a dip in the island's freshwater lakes and streams.

Located in📍Central Station is a magnificent rainforest and the home to the massive Angiopteris ferns, growing in the sandy creek bed. They have fronds reaching 24 foot wide and almost look like something from the Jurassic Park movies as you walk beside this beautiful creek along the boardwalk 🌿
