The Safari Republic team are more than happy to offer advice throughout your itinerary where optional extras - like a hot air balloon flight - will enhance your Tanzanian safari.

Starting from Central Serengeti, the balloon flight does require an early morning start but the views are worth it. Flying over the Serengeti at sunrise as the African wildlife wake up for the day is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Spot the croc! 🐊🐊🐊

Each year in July and August almost two million eager wildebeest and zebra make their way across the Mara River hoping they don't run into one of these big guys.

And every year around now, the Safari Republic team is super busy with enquiries, bookings, and logistics from clients wanting to catch this remarkable experience. No surprises why, as the Great Migration is the largest animal migration on land. At the river, from the comfort of your private 4WD, it is great game viewing to see which wildebeest gets across, and which croc gets lucky.

We like to include three nights in Northern Serengeti for our migration safaris to take as many lucky - and not-so-lucky - crossings as you can. For those wanting to explore further, nothing beats a flight from Serengeti to Zanzibar to close out your Tanzanian adventure.
