The House:
"The Edge Retreat” is a unique house overhanging a granite ridge amongst bushland in the Chittering Valley 50mins North East of Perth.
This section of the property, where the land drops away has always been known in our family as “The Edge of the World”, as it enjoys spectacular views East over the Valley. The house has been specifically designed using Energy Efficient principles, it comprises two pavilions, one Sleeping and one Living, separated by a 3.5m Breezeway Deck and showcases how to “live simply”.
-Living Pavilion contains Kitchen, Meals & Living Rm (Wood Fire, TV, Games, Books)
-Sleeping Pavilion caters for 4 Guests (2 Couples - 2x QS Beds or 5 if you include the Daybed), a Bathroom, Laundry and Storage Cupboard.
-Campfire Pit (or “Circle of Truth” - you mustn’t lie when you sit around it)
-Rustic Outdoor Bath-House (2 x Recycled Hot Tubs)
The Lifestyle:
Life is “slow and easy” at The Edge Retreat. The House is set up for serious Chill Time so relax..... light the fire..... enjoy the peace and quiet.... go for long walks, visit the local wineries (Stringy Bark Winery is within walking distance) Read a book.... sit on the Deck amongst nature, or around the campfire at night, soak in the Outdoor Hot tubs.... sleep in the swags (on the platform step or around the fire), generally get away from the hassles of everyday life. …..Whatever you decide, you will sleep well and be rejuvenated here. The Area:
The Lower Chittering Valley is 50mins North East of Perth at the Northern end of the Darling Scarp Ranges. Natural Bushland consists of Jarrah, Banksia, Red & White Gum Trees, wildflowers and Ancient Grass Trees. The scenery is breathtaking, its undulating hills with an interesting mix of natural bushland, vineyards, orange orchards and wildflowers make it an attractive drawcard for creative minds -artists, photographers, writers etc and the Retreat has be hired occasionally for yoga weekend workshops. In the interests of sharing this amazing location with others and to ensure minimal disruption to the farm and Bushland, the retreat is open only from June to end August, to small groups that we know will appreciate and respect the surroundings. Best time to stay is Spring (August, September). Note: Put some thought into your food items & supplies –All Supermarkets and Take-away outlets are located 12klms away in the Town of Bullsbrook.
