Weaving in Fiji is a tradition passed down from generation to generation through the lineage of women, and woven mats still hold immense cultural value. Made by women, Fijian mats are begun by stripping, boiling, drying, softening the flax and blackening. The dried leaves are then stripped into slices and woven into tight, often diagonal patterns that culminate in frayed or fringed edges.

Rex has entered voluntary administration and all domestic flights between major capital cities have now been cancelled. This includes services between Adelaide and Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
Flights on Rex's regional network will continue to operate as scheduled. They include services between Adelaide and Port Lincoln, Mt Gambier, Broken Hill, Ceduna and Coober Pedy.
Passengers due to travel on Rex domestic flights should make alternative travel arrangements with Virgin Australia or Qantas before coming to Adelaide Airport.
Passengers can rebook flights with Virgin Australia at no extra cost. Impacted customers must rebook by 5pm Wednesday 14 August by contacting Virgin Australia on 13 67 89 or www.virginaustralia.com.
Passengers can rebook flights with Qantas and Jetstar at no extra cost by contacting Jetstar on Live Chat or 13 15 38 and Qantas on 13 13 13 to make a booking. They have until 31 August 2024 to take up the offer.

Scraping the #coconut Vavavi Cooking Experience
Today I was lucky enough to try the new tour in town. Vavavi Cooking Experience Set in a beautiful natural location we learnt all about the foods we were preparing, prepared the lovo and had a delicious morning tea. The guests went off to visit a local village and came back to unearth the lovo and we ate, and we ate. Followed by a kava ceremony. Highly recommend this tour if youâre in Nadi. Only half an hour from Denarau they will pick you up from your hotel. Itâs a relaxed and easy day with lots of laughs and chatting. So great that the young guest was interested and they even built him his own fire to cook.
