Was gracious, giving, held compassion, strength of character and brought peace and friendship to all. Her house was warm, welcoming, perfumed of baked brioche and biscuits, it was a house of blessings and non-judgemental unity. She now rises with the vivacity of each mornings light, softly sails through the trees’ breeze, smiles beyond the stars’ sparkle and subtly glows from within the eloquent beads of champagne.. There was a huge abundance of laughter and happiness around our kitchen table today as we shared this exceptional gift from Clément.
Le Chemin des Roses was purely breathtaking. So fresh, floral, finesse, unbelievable elegance. There was a beautiful amplitude that held a lively depth of complexity as nashi, orchard stone fruits, spiced pistachio, lemon shortcrust pastry, to the earths richness, beautifully balanced its stunning structure. The power of his land exemplified the huge characterful flavours, and as you spent time with each sip, you felt the breath of his soils, his spirit of mind and this was a truly remarkable wine.

This afternoon, myself and my family held the great honour of meeting 2015 Mer sur Mont, a 1.03 hectare old vine plot located in Meurville. Fantastic, plush, generous and full of pleasure. There was an extraordinary savory expression, a lovely salty texture, with exceptional density of citrus, tropical fruits that amplified its flamboyant depth. With his gentle hand and the patience of time, this wine was remarkably delicious - Beautifully, structurally balanced, that aged so gracefully, with an energy that lifted each present layer of complexity. As Rémi Leroy said, this is more than Champagne, this is wine of Champagne. Yes, Rémi’s wines are expressive and a perfect picture of the landscape inwhich he cautiously tenders his family vines, producing exceptional vinuous wines with meticulous detail from his corner in Champagne. Thank you so much Adrian for your beautiful wine that carves your remarkable place. This stunning wine emphasises the vivacious power of his village and vines - Verzy. It is a brilliant performance, with a striking mineral expression, floral aromas with fruits that are so clean, crisp, crunchy and creamy too. Pear, apricots, red apples, that move to juicy, fleshy seville oranges, yellow/red plums, pistachio, orange cherries. Le Cepage is concise, complex, and as one smells, takes one sip, it confirms positive impressions, that illustrates the dedication to his vineyards, which is a testament to the richness of his story and wine.

With great impatience, I always look forward to moments with the compassionate Nathalie, Hubert and Joseph. Their unconditional spirited energy, devotion for vine and life, fulfills the atmosphere that adorns their wine before you. This was an early morning of marvellous, whom one could dream such delightful content. A morning that was not only complete with a full degustation of Max’s extremely elegant, thoughtful wines; But a morning, that was so warm and personal. From his inaugural cuvee to his new Chardonnay plot, i have always loved Max’s wines for their plush softness, beautiful fruits, white to purple florals, creamy caramels, fine nutmeg and complex notes, to a precise and exotic maturity. His 2022 rouge was something else of spectacular and as he said, < I don’t want great wine, I want 😂😍 great wine > and what we shared today, was the epitome of that. Thank you so much Max, we love you here in Australia with us ❤️🇦🇺.

It is incredible how fast time flies. I have known Benoit for 8 years already, and every time we catch up, we always exchange a great friendly moment of memories and joy.
His warmth yet charismatic energy is so sympathetic, so inspiring, that continually helps me understand the sensations of his truly spectacular Champagnes.
From an incredible brightness, freshness of minerality to a balanced tension and sumptuous fruit juiciness, each wine tells their story. Soft spices, to pomegrantes, rose petals, mandarins, orange cream and walnut shells; The life and the living within his wines, encapsulate the purity and beauty of his very special place.

We cherished every minute of our time in Vrigny, sharing a beautiful morning with a beautiful family. Vineyard walks, conversations around encouraging vineyard biodiversity, soil nutrients & nurturing, humidity, and the life in general. A significant and incredibly fascinating Vin Clair tasting took its course, as we moved through grape varieties, plots, age, ferment materials & textures, ending with a deeply generous moment with their stunning wines of Champagne.
From the beginning until our time came to an end; Huge smiles, sincere cuddles and memories engraved our hearts, as the beauty of nature was so bright, alive and right by our side ❤️

This day was fantastically exciting as we shared an intimate morning with sincere and admirable winemakers; Julien and Sarah Launois. Their Champagnes are magnificence, just so elegant and truly special that uniquely correlate alongside their Barrel project so beautifully. It was a fascinating moment as we learned about Julien & Sarah’s single barrel collaboration between themselves and the customer. This bespoke project is remarkable - You are personally invited to be involved with the tasting of still wine, barrels, toasting strength and bottle age of your finished Champagne.
Their wines themselves, are holistically exceptional. So elegant that fully express their identity, fine layers of creamy citrus chalk, tropical / stone fruits all that leave a freshness on your palette with a vibrancy of movements and expression ❤️

It has been 8 years since my first journey to Champagne. On that very first visit, Nico’s huge smile and warming energy immediately captured my curiosity and heart. Endless great moments from Vandières to Brisbane have now passed, and to this day, his infectious charismatic character, loveable happiness, and the sympathetic nature of himself, Maud & Vitalie, welcomes comfort to my every day. Their wines circulate so presently through our mind and soul, with an enriching warmth, brightness and vibrancy, that we are so proud to bestow on you.

An incredible insight as I continue to show what is the real daily work of biodynamic winemakers in Champagne. With such a climate: Their convictions, beliefs, willpower, respect, is becoming a luxury. < There are battles fought in which few people perceive meaning or usefulness, except those who fight them together in anonymity. Why are they being led? The question we didn’t ask ourselves this morning at 8:00 am when Etienne, Stéphane, Arnaud left for this long day, of noise, rage, rain, mud, very passing lightness and fatigue.

And yet we did it, without hesitation. We did it because we chose to lead a field in bio and biodynamics. And when since November 2023 it hasn’t been a week without rain, you can imagine a mushroom relishing the excess moisture on the vine: mildiou. And in bio, no miracle product, only copper with small repeated doses allows to limit the development of the pathogen. 10 mm of rain and to start the copper spraying again. But what to do when it rains every day with daily accumulations of around 20 or 30 mm? No choice, caterpillars allow to enter the vines when a tractor would risk getting stuck on the first wheel turns despite the grass we leave between the rows.

So yes, the vineyard suffers from these mildew attacks, men and women suffer from having to do this aggravating work of all days to protect a plant “with bows and arrows and not nuclear weapons”. We chose it and we are not complaining, we are proud of it while staying humble in front of a nature beyond us. > Thank you so very much Etienne for helping us understand your daily life and what you do to make the most natural wine possible while respecting nature and protecting the planet for our children.
