We are Live Ningaloo; the only small-scale, single swimming group tour operator on the Ningaloo Reef. In 2023 we were awarded Gold in the Ecotourism category at the Western Australia Tourism Awards, totalling three consecutive years. We additionally earned a coveted place in the Western Australia Tourism Hall of Fame, and two additional Gold accolades at the Australian Tourism Awards. We are firm

believers in our mission; we want to reclaim time in a meaningful way and give people the space to feel something. We give guests the best opportunity to create authentic, life-changing experiences that challenges them to grow. Live Ningaloo was born from a desire to break away from the crowd. Co-founders Murray and Sonia identified a gap in the market during Murray's tenure as a fishing guide at Sal Salis Ningaloo tented camp. They dared to swim against the tide, creating a tour company focused solely on small-scale, single swimming groups. At Live Ningaloo, we believe in quality over quantity, and our ultimate vision is to leave people, place, and the wild better than how we found it. This week we spent three days with South Folk Collective (which happens to be operated by our wonderful Tash) for their Women's Freedive Nyinggulu Reef retreat. An incredible experience was had on Saturday - we had oodles of Manta Rays join us on the outer reef! These gentle giants are completely harmless to humans, feeding on krill and plankton. They also have the largest brain to body ratio of any cold-blooded fish, and are so intelligent they have passed a test where it's possible they can recognise their own reflection in a mirror! 😱 📸 Live Ningaloo + Justin Bumpstead

'Twas the first day of August, and the Ningaloo was buzzing! On Thursday we had our first Humpback swim of the season with Curtis, Barb, Tony and Soph who had a whale of time, and they even got to see a few more fishy friends including our favourite, a Leopard Shark! Thanks for joining us, we loved hearing your travel stories 😍

Although there's so much beauty in the reef and we are a marine-based experience, we can't overlook the Cape Range National Park which provides the spectacular backdrop to our daily tours. This breathtaking landscape formed by the gradual uplift of the sea floor has shaped over time by changing sea levels, wind, and water erosion. What is 'The Big Three' you ask? Well if you came out with us last Friday you would've got to see first hand! Trina and Chris travelled from Manly Beach in Sydney, and of course they were here for the Whale Sharks, but boy did mother nature deliver - the Big Three to be exact - Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and Humpback Whales! Whale Sharks may be the main act on the Ningaloo, however Manta Rays are definitely a fan favourite. They are completely harmless to humans, and a true definition of the term 'gentle giant'. A fun ocean friend fact for you: Did you know that a Dugong's closest land relative is the Elephant?
