After volunteering with us post placement and then joining Concern Australia as a causal youth worker. We are pleased to have her on board at Hand Brake Turn as our South East - Youth Engagement Officer.

2023 has been a rewarding year for our team. So many successes and challenges and we are so proud of our young people.

Sadly we do say goodbye to two long standing members of our team this year.

Alisha - Youth Engagement Officer at Sunshine West finishes up today to head into a new exciting chapter.

Josh - North West trainer finished up earlier this year, heading off on a new adventure with his family.

Hand Brake Turn are so pleased to announce that our very own Phil Bloy has been awarded the prestigious Pioneer Award at Concern Australia

The Pioneer Award was created in honour of our founder Rev Dr John Smith, and is awarded to the staff member "...who has demonstrated a Pioneering spirit through their work at Concern Australia, having a positive impact on young people and children, and has displayed outstanding servanthood, integrity and loyalty."

We couldn't think of a more deserving recipient! Well done Phil!

The crew covered topics ranging from basic car maintenance to complex brake assemblies and playing with small motors!

We are so proud of Connor and all that he has achieved while with us.

Connor completed Hand Brake Turn at the beginning of 2022. He went on to be one of the first FiXit Sales employees and continued to dedicate his time and efforts as a volunteer to the program and Concern Australia.
