Have you walked Wednesday's Walk of the Week?
Wilpena Pound via Bridal Gap to Black Gap on the Heysen Track Flinders Ranges
On today's walk you'll really get to appreciate the area and its sheer scale. Continue your journey across the valley floor totally surrounded by the impressive Wilpena Pound walls. Prior to European settlement, the indigenous people hunted here. The Aboriginal word Wilpena means ‘cupped hand’. Holding tremendous cultural significance and spiritually uplifting, this is an ancient place offering unparalleled sanctuary and tranquility to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself. At Bridal Gap, there are astounding views to be had over the Pound and out over the Chase Range.

Yallingup to Cape Naturaliste and Bunker Bay on the Cape to Cape Track
The final section of the Cape to Cape is simply divine. Taking the cliff top trail, lap up the spectacular ocean views throughout the day. The track makes its way down to the beach where you can witness the full power of the ocean. Sugarloaf Rock is another highlight, a large granite island shaped like a cone of sugar - the form in which sugar was sold in years gone by. This walk is challenging in sections but every step is worth it. For those on the self guided itinerary finishing at the beautiful Bunker Bay is the cherry on top of an excellent day.

Nakatsugawa to Tsumago on the Nakasendo Trail
The walk from Nakatsugawa to Tsumago is one of the most popular along the Nakasendo Trail. Stroll along the ancient cobblestone path to arrive at the stunning little town of Magome, no. 43 of the 69 post towns that are visited along the Nakasendo and a major highlight! Both Magome and Tsumago are well known for their preserved feudal era wooden buildings serving as an open air museum. It feels like you've stepped back in time as you explore the many small shops along the street. The trail after Magome is varied and beautiful making its way past rice paddies, through woodlands and waterfalls to the gorgeous village of Tsumago. This 17km walk can also be shortened to 9km if you wish!
