Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our bus services, optimising efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on customer satisfaction, and the ability to analyse and improve operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Oversight:
• Manage the daily operations of the bus services, ensuring schedules are adhered to and services run efficiently.
2. Staff Management:
• Recruit, train, and supervise operational staff, including drivers and support personnel.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence among staff.
3. Staff and Vehicle Scheduling:
o Generate and distribute driver rosters while assigning vehicles to booked jobs, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
4. Budget Management:
• Oversee the operational budget, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures while maintaining service quality.
5. Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure adherence to all relevant transport regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct regular audits and training to maintain high safety standards.
6. Customer Service:
• Address customer inquiries and complaints, working to enhance the overall passenger experience and ensure satisfaction.
7. Performance Monitoring:
• Analyse operational data to assess performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
8. Collaboration with Other Departments:
• Work closely with the Fleet Manager, maintenance, and administration teams to coordinate operations and resolve issues.
9. Crisis Management:
• Maintain and review contingency plans for unexpected events, such as vehicle breakdowns or delays.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in operations management within the transportation industry, preferred but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of Australian transport regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to analyse data and implement process improvements.
• Proficient in operational management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
