MISS BOULEVARD…NOW LISTED

This one-of-a-kind house nestled by the banks of the Goulburn River was always pretty special.

Believed to be the original home that kicked off the highly sought-after Boulevard precinct. She has stood proud since then and quietly observed the growth and progress of Shepparton to be the vibrant and innovative regional city it is today.

Gorgeous yet understated with her art deco curves and steamer ship chimney, crazy stone paving and fireplace, and clever floor plan. She was well ahead of her time.

The story of our love affair with Miss B started way back in 2016 - when much like a blind date we bid sight unseen at an auction with the help of a friend.

She kicked us off with a bang in the world of accommodation and quickly established herself as a guest and community favourite, featuring in magazines, wedding day preparations, photoshoots, short breaks and family and friend celebrations. She has hosted couples, families, friends, pups, artists and even a celebrity or two.

Today she remains one of Shepparton's most popular short-term accommodation options, taking out awards and topping occupancy rates across the region.

From tomorrow, Miss B will grace the pages of all your favourite realestate pages.

In winter you’ll find me here. Out back of Miss B, enjoying a local drop by the fire under the ancient tree. Apparently Miss B was one of the first houses built as part of a most modern and progressive subdivision back in the late 1940s. They sure knew how to build them then. Standing the test of time. It’s lovely to sit out on a clear night and enjoy the sounds of the bush just behind. Wind through the trees, bird life. Then when it gets a little too fresh or dark, back indoors to the climate controlled comfort of the house. She maybe almost 75 years young, but she’s kept up with the modern day comforts. 📷

Do you provide breakfast? At Miss Boulevard’s Place we want you to be able to settle in for a relaxed start to you day. So we provide quality bread (sourced locally like Higgins’s Bakery’s sour dough), milk, spreads including Tatura Butter and good old fashioned vegemite and fruit jams. Toasted muesli and a supply of teas, coffee (sustainable pods, instant and ground).

Stoked to once again feature in Country Style magazine - this time as a small business operator in the Goulburn Valley. A huge shout out to for the beautiful photos featured throughout the article on Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley. The feature was sponsored by and supplied many of the images as part of our Seasoned project.

Seasoned has been a bit of a labour of love over the past few years. A vision shared with my fellow board members at DGV Alice Tallis from Tallis Wine, Michael De Maria from Quest Shepparton, Peter Hill from MOVE and past board members Ross Graham, Kate Smith, Sandra Vazzoler, Ingrid Thomas and Jenna Buzza.

We have recently been joined by Eugenie Stragalinos our new chair and Vicki Scott as our part time Executive Officer.

Together we have long held the vision that the Goulburn Valley be celebrated not only as a food producing and sporting events destination, but that we be recognised as a place to visit and explore as part of Victoria’s tourism industry all year round.

It’s fair to say that I’ve accrued a few bumps and bruises along the way. But to see this vision becoming a reality makes it all worthwhile.

This week marks 6 whole years since we opened our doors as a dedicated hosted home here in Shepparton on the Boulevard right by the Goulburn River. In that time it’s fair to say we’ve hosted 1000s of guests all visiting for different reasons. Some have been on holidays, others travelling for work, some celebrating extra special occasions - anniversaries, weddings, birthdays. Some attending a sporting event, others needing a comfortable place to stay while saying goodbye to loved ones. We bought and renovated the house with guest needs front of mind. At the time we were one of only 5 airbnbs in town. Originally known as River Place, the house has always been home to a combination of vintage and contemporary furniture, artwork and eclectic finds. Over the years off the growth in bookings, lots of hard work and the confidence of our guests, supported by a team of incredible housekeeping, maintenance and tradespeople, Luis and I have built a dedicated hosting business here in the Goulburn Valley. And while Covid had other ideas for our vision of 5-6 properties across the region, over the years we have honed this vision and invested time, energy and resources into creating the best version of hosted homes we know how.

We have a few surprises in store to be revealed later in the year, but for now we invite you to take another look at Miss Boulevard or Miss B for short.

She’s still the beautiful art deco dame, but in 2023 she’s taken on an extra dose of style and sass. We adore her. But don’t take our word for it, book a stay and come see for yourself.

Patience is a virtue possess it if you can…
When you have a busy, creative mind patience has never been one of my strong suits, but I’m working on it. Learning about the long game. It’s been five years since we opened Miss Boulevard- originally as River Place, one of Shepparton’s original airbnbs. This week she played host to a very special guest curator that worked with my collection of special things to weave the story of Miss B through every room creating a photo worthy feast for the eyes. Professional photos are mere days away. So for now join me in waiting ever so patiently… it will be worth the wait I promise.
