This week we had 2 days working with CSIRO on tidal sensor placement in the Fitzroy, this data will improve and add tide chart information to 3 new points along the river with mangrove research and erosion surveys along the way.
Next month we have a week of bathymetric surveys on the lower reaches of the Fitzroy to improve navigational charts.

Fishing with Greg from NSW this week was challenging with the wind so we hit the back of the creeks out of the wind for a few smaller fish, Greg lost a massive king threadfin on the first day along with a few others, sharks gave us a touch up but we persisted for some results in the end.

And end to an amazing 10 day exploration trip to Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 New Britain Island, shout out to Simon McNally for the invitation we all had an amazing time, thanks to the great crew who looked after us we had non stop laughs during this adventure, can’t wait to go again, I ticked off 2 bucket list species on the trip Black Bass and Dog Tooth Tuna plus many other species along the way 🎣

A couple of King Threadfin for Trevor yesterday in the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton, was a bit of a slow start to the day but the bite came around lunchtime.

Nice day out on the Fitzroy with Michelle who caught this King Threadfin going 112cm, in the two trips with Reel Fishing CQ Michelle now has 3 King Threadfin going 101cm 110cm and 112cm not bad for the first 3 king you have ever caught 👍🎣

The Fitzroy River Clean up today was a great success thanks to everyone that pitched in and collected rubbish, we donated our time today and cleared 200kg of rubbish from the river.

Big tides made the day difficult last week but Daniel visiting town for work was keen for a day out on the water, after patiently waiting for me bait collecting we got the bite window just right with this 101cm King Threadfin Salmon.
