My phone has exploded with everyone very keen to book travel, while this is great and I am very excited there are so many variables to get on top of in the next couple of weeks . Airlines
had no notice so are scrambling to load flights, confirm staff etc . Also I am waiting the official word on quarantine both in Australia and overseas !

I did not know this!
The 9/11 Memorial "Tear Drop" sit's directly across from NYC, in Bayonne New Jersey, just the other side of the Statue of Liberty, yet we hear nothing about it. This absolutely beautiful, 100 ft. tall monument was gifted to the people of the United States by the people of Russia in 2006, in memory of all those who lost their lives on that fateful day, September 11, 2001.
The breaking in the cracked facade forms the shape of the two towers. The giant suspended tear drop signifies the tears of the entire world that day.
Maybe it's something that needs to be known, starting today.

🗓️ From 1am AEST Saturday 19 June, you must complete a declaration to enter Queensland from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.

💻 Registering to enter Queensland will help us quickly contact you if a new exposure venue or hotspot is announced.

There are two types of declarations, a Travel Declaration and a Border Declaration Pass. The type of declaration you need depends on where you've been in the last 14 days and your circumstances.

This system is for both travellers to Queensland and residents of Queensland returning home from interstate or New Zealand.

Based on an assessment of public health risks, the Chief Health Officer has declared the following areas will be designated green zones under Victoria’s ‘traffic light’ travel permit system effective 11:59 pm , 11 April:

• Greater Brisbane (City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay Region, Redlands City)
• The Gladstone region in Queensland
• Byron Shire in New South Wales

Until this comes into effect at 11:59pm, those entering from locations in NSW or QLD who are observing orange zone permit conditions need to test and isolate until they receive a negative result, as per their current permit conditions.

When in effect, every location in Australia and New Zealand will be green zones for the purpose of entering Victoria.
Arrivals from green zones still require a permit to enter Victoria, because the information provided supports the speed of Victoria’s response should the public health situation in any location change.

Permits can be obtained at www.service.vic.gov.au. For more information on Victoria’s travel permit system, visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/victorian-travel-permit-system.

The Chief Health Officer will continue monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as needed.

Find out about the permit system, which applies to travellers coming to Victoria from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.

It has been almost 12 months since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic and I wanted to get in touch to check how you are and give you an update on my business.

It has certainly been a challenging time. Since the pandemic began, I have spent hundreds of hours sourcing refunds from suppliers across the globe on behalf of my clients. To date, Australian travel advisors have successfully repatriated six out of ten billion dollars in refunds due from overseas. This work continues, both personally and across the whole industry.

The closure of our international borders and the continued unpredictability of our domestic borders has also impacted my business significantly. We have been hoping for a travel bubble between Australia and neighbouring countries since the middle of last year but have repeatedly seen those options pushed back when new cases have occurred.

I’m encouraged by the arrival of Australia’s first shipment of vaccines. To me, this represents a practical step towards our world opening safely, and of course relief for those of us with a dormant travel bug.

One year on, I find myself sitting back and reflecting on why I’m still here; why I’m pushing on despite the hurdles; and why I’m excited about the future of travel and your and my participation. It all comes back to the quote… “remember why you started”. I started because I love travel, it’s in my DNA, and I wanted to share that passion with as many people as possible. And while the opportunity to clear customs (and at times our own driveways) has been on hold for longer than hoped, my passion remains. It’s not hard to remind myself of this… my phone’s camera roll (and yes, printed photo albums) are a quick reminder of landscapes that made me gasp, food that brought me near tears, and people that made me feel like I was somehow home.

Australians are itching to travel again, and I’m eager to be there and make it happen when we get the green light. It’s difficult to know exactly when that will be, but I am keeping up to date with the latest information. What I am confident of though, is that 2022 will be a bumper year and I have my sights firmly set on the recovery it will bring.

I would love to hear from you, learn what’s been happening in your life and chat about your travel plans. I’m still here and available to help you get going, whether it’s planning for something big in 2022 or seeing a little more of our own backyard this year. And what a lucky bunch we are to have the spectacular backyard we do.
